I do not have factions so thus I ask...

will the new skills for the core classes be for people with factions only? If so that will be a shame and a gamebreaker for me

If its that its for people with factions only, it means they have the ABILITY to become stronger than someone who doesnt have access to them.. think about it, this game basically RUNS on almost. how would you feel if somebody had a whole slew of skills that you didnt just because they paid money for them....

omg I can just see people spamming for groups "MUST HAVE FACTIONS" or something like "LFG MHF" (must have factions) because they will want groups with the new skills... sigh ._. another reason I won't get a group.

That's the incentive to buy the new chapters.

No new skills will be givin for existing chapters.

then HOW do you incorporate game balance? I mean take someone with GW against someone with GW and factions.... the latter has more skills and if he merged his accounts, hes coming to tyranian lands and just makes you seem insignificant.

"I have skills"
"i have more skills"

e.e someone PLEASE tell me how this is fair?

we payed more?

*edit*

also.. more skills doesn't equal more power by any means. especially in this game where the devs have done such a brilliant job at balancing. it only means more options.. if you're going to stick with prophecies then you're simply going to have to be more creative with the skill you do have in the future.

There are tyria-only arenas, although none for 20s. Really, I don't think it matters all that much. A good bunch of the skills are dupes, and anybody who would have any good reason to complain about balance will be buying the game anyway.

umm its your choice. if you choose not to be competitive how is that arena nets fault? accept personal responsibility. do not blame the game developers when they offer you the choice to buy the game.

To confirm this, try creating a pvp character and see if the new skills are listed. if it is, that means you can unlock it via pvp. However i dont think this is possible through PvE! I could confirm this myself if i want, but my copy hasn't arrived yet and i have no free slot. so try confirming it yourself..

The idea is that even though the people who have Factions have more skills, the skills are still balanced. So even if you only own the original GW, you can still beat someone who owns both games...if you're good enough. That's the idea anyway.

Just like every thing else in life, if you want bigger-better-more than you have to give up some $$$.

If Prop. characters reaped the benefits of factions, what incentive to buy Factions would there be?

Having a few more skills available doesn't mean as much as you think it does. Every new skill they put on their bar is one old skill being taken out, and it's not like the new skills are better than the old ones.
