Guide to Defeating Shiro
LoKi Foxfire
This is just going to be a quick round up of his skills and quite possible the easiest way to ganking this monster of a boss. Anyways, here are the skills that Shiro uses:
Shiro uses Riposting Shadows at any point after you engage him. I've noticed that he can even hit me if he's nowhere near him. Blind will put a stop to this temporarily (unless he's low on health).
This skill makes Shiro last a lot longer than he should if you don't blind him. Even then, it only lasts for 7 seconds and isn't that big of a deal.
Honestly, if you can't stop MotR faster than 2-3 seconds you won't be able to finish him off before he starts using Impossible Odds on you. You can't avoid the damage so the only thing you can do is to deal as much damage as you can (the easy way I will explain after this). If you ignore him, Shiro will do around 600+ damage and instantly kill your entire party.
This skill is absolutely EVIL. He will only use it around 25%-30% but once he does he is able to keep blind off you and will decimate everyone in the vicinity. The counter to this is the ranger special skill.
Banishes one character to another area and replaces them with a hostile Construct. Killing the construct refreshes your special skills.
Alright, the easiest way I found to defeat Shiro is by using pure brute force and a little help from the dragon NPC. Before you run down the bridge to engage Shiro, make sure everyone gets their special skill loaded into their skill bar.
When you're making a party, try to get at least 3-4 warriors and 1 ranger. This method REQUIRES that you have a ranger there to use the Celestial Stance to stop Impossible Odds from destroying you when Shiro gets low on health. The warriors are there for their special skill that causes 25 damage a second to adjacent enemies. Elementalists work as well - I've heard they have some huge area AE skill.
Anyways, Shiro is surprisingly easy if you know what to do. Have your warriors charge up the stairs and engage him immediately. One character will be banished at this point. Everyone should use their special skills now and kill the Construct to recharge them. Immediately after that, have everyone focus all their DPS on Shiro. Warriors should use their special skill to cause massive damage to him while everyone crowds as close as possible. If possible, have your Ranger play a trapper and equip Throw Dirt. Blind Shiro at 50-75% and continue to trap but save Dust Trap for a bit later! When he gets near that Impossible Odds mark, activate Dust Trap AND Celestial Stance BEFORE Impossible Odds goes off. At this point you need to kill him in 15 seconds before Celestial Stance and Dust Trap disappear... otherwise Impossible Odds will most likely finish you off. Anyways, it's pretty simple as long as you have enough warriors and a ranger. Healing isn't too bad with him and you can even rely on henchmen. :]

SS And Empathy work quite well on him if you can get MoR ended quickly so the damage is minimized.
The Assassin skill for the dragon call 6 (I think) melee characters which really help with the damage ouput.

and excelent post Loki Yea, it's a good idea to kill the first bounded that way everyone can spam their skills and get a good start on killing Shiro - then the warriors can refresh their damage skill when they run out again. Ranger should save his Celestial Stance for when he's about to bust out Impossible Odds.

Damit you just spoiled the ending for me just by the title!!!
I didn't play factions yet and I thought Shiro would turn out to be good!!

it sounds to me like skills such as wild blow would be nice to bring along? Skills that remove stances.

You don't even need to worry about the bounds if you have warrior skills. I just spam Wild Blow, the new elite Shove, and when it recharges the dagger thing from the dragon. With henchies I can kill him in 2 mins, with another player my record is 1:10 (other player was an assassin). Henchies bring all the necros, mesmers, and warriors. They will just degrade him, and then you just beat him down.

I found that Insidious Parasite worked well on him too.
As soon as the battle started I got banished; but when I came back I started to spam hexes on him and as soon as Insidious was put on him +21's lit up across my screen and he died in 2-3 seconds. Due to using Impossible Odds his attacks double striked all the golems, warriors, and assassins around him. gg

i did this with henchies and 1 assasin only by using this skill bar:
Eviscerate, Executioners, Swift Chop, <special skill>, Wild Blow, Res Sig(didnt use becouse no1 died)Penatring chop, Berserker Stance.
Use wild blow on him when he enters a stance. always.
let the assasin use his special skill and let the henchies aggro shiro. use the warrior special skill and he will be dead in no-time.

Has anyone tried using the Assassin skill "Mirrored Stance" on him?
If it worked...

LOL. Mirrored stance would be amazing if it worked. I wouldn't even be able to imagine how fun that would be...
Dzan
Mirrored stance does nothing, tested last night.

Nice job Loki =).
I took my henchies in and used a W/N. Used Life Siphon, Gash, tainted flesh =). Just degen the sucker.

Just a tip for the Necro crowd:
Impossible Odds + Spoil Victor = Dead Shiro.
Especially if you have a henchie group that is able to mob Shiro. I've seen him do well over 600 damage to himself with this skill.

While the advice is good I still find it is easiest with 1 SS/Curse Necro and fill in the blank on the other 7. Seriously spam your warrior hate on this guy and the other 7 just need to kill the bounds and jump on Shiro in his Meditation Stance and dish out the damage fast or Wild Blow if its on the bar.
16 Curses. The other atts depend on if you wanna add Spirit of Failure, Empathy, or skills of any other line. Leftovers in Soul Reaping. Your minion from Kuunavang is a Celestial Minion that gives Energy and Health whenever he hits.
1.Spiteful Spirit. Spam it. Hes a boss so all durations are 1/2 which just happens to be about the recharge of this spell =].
2. Price of Failure. When this skill recharges it still has 5 seconds before it ends on Shiro. Not the priority spam that SS is but very beneficial. Its effects go up if you have a Blinder with you but any miss helps.
3. Reckless Haste. This one wears out long before its recastable so I try to stack it when possible immediately after Price of Failure to get the most possible misses in that window.
Those 3 alone can kill him if the other 7 take care of the side issues.
For just damage Defile Enchants and Desecrate Enchants.
Depending on other 2ndaries etc you can fill the other 3 slots as Rez Sig and The Celestial Minion should also be on your bar.
GL. For the unprepared Shiro is devastating. Once youve beat him once though its all about doing it under a minute with the least amount of people =].

Beat Shiro last night with my Melee Ranger. I had some help in the form of 2 Assassins and 2 Warriors, plus a fairly balanced group after that. The other ranger on our team INSISTED that we all bring interrupts, and spam cast them on Shiro. I would like to point out that this does nothing with the exception of Meditation (which I never even saw). Honestly, Warriors and Assassins are your best friends here due to their Celestial skills from the Dragon.
Also, unless you're a Monk or a Ritualist, don't even bother with self heals. Chances are, if you need to heal yourself, you're just gonna die anyway.

I found my ele can beat him up in less than two minutes with henchies simply by bringing arcane echo and echo.
Arcane echo, echo, celestial storm, AE'd echo, celestial storm, celestial storm, kill construct, three more celestial storms, kill next construct, repeat until desired result is achieved.

The other day, the team I was in defeated Shiro in about 2mins. We had no monks except for Mhenlo, just damage dealers. All we did is just rushed and only attacked Shiro.

Got him too yesterday, rez sig seems very useful here, for each bound ritualist/monk/necromancer u kill it recharges.

I beat Shiro with my assassin using all henchies on my third attempt. Only got the Expert's reward, but I could probably come up with a better build that would kill him faster. I didn't even end up using the elite I had equiped. I had. . . .
15 Dagger Master (12+1+2)
10 Critical Strikes
8 Healing Prayers
Jagged Strike
Golden Lotus Strike
Wild Strike
Death Blossom
Moebius Strike {E}
Critical Eye
Vigorous Spirit
Star Strike (special)
Basically I just ran up and beat on him as hard as I could with all my henchies, not really caring who was getting hit. With two monk henchies plus Eve for Blood Ritual, they could keep up with the healing just fine. I don't think any of my henchies died the time I beat him, or if they did, they were rezzed fast enough that it didn't matter.
Jagged Strike is there as a cheap lead attack that also adds a bit of degen; I would spam it and Wild Strike pretty much as often as I could to remove Battle Scars. Maintaining Vigorous Spirit both provides a decent amount of self-healing as well as provides energy from Golden Lotus Strike. Death Blossom was good for extra damage, with only 5 energy cost and 12 second recharge. Moebius Strike, though, was useless for most of the fight because it's only useful once he's below 50%; I'd replace this with something to blind him. Critical Eye is pretty obvious for adding damage and providing energy.
Star Strike, however, is what really makes it possible. What you do is wait until Shiro banishes one of your henchies, then use it. The celestial attackers that it summons can kill the construct while you and your henchies continue beating on Shiro to keep him from killing you with Meditation of the Reaper. They go down pretty fast from a ton of the attackers beating on them, and then they'll help you out with Shiro. And since killing the construct renews Star Strike, you can use it again for even more extra damage. After renewing Star Strike twice this way, the attackers, along with me and the henchies, finally overwhelmed Shiro and he went down.

I really don't see assassins (or anyone for that matter) recieving Meditation of the Reaper...no matter how much we all want it.
Raiin Maker
me and my mate had a great build.
i was a w/* and he was a n/*
i took attacking skills with watch yourself.
he took MM skills. (with deathnova)
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE RANGER HENCHIE
basicly you attack shiro until he is down to lowish health (make sure you keep any minions you make alive) when he starts using invisble odds. the ranger henchie will counter it.
then use death nova on the minions and eat them, removing the last ammounts of his health.
hope this helps.
