well this was very interesting....i was hanging around in the monastery and all of a sudden i found myself in an argument with someone that i didnt even know. we were arguing about what would happen to your factions chars if you did not buy the actual game. i said they would be deleted after the 10 day grace period and this guy said that they wouldnt. and we went back and forth for a while and he said..."look just trust me they will not be deleted." so my smart @$$ said "yeah right how do you know. do you work for anet or something..."<---famous last words....and he said funny enough..."actually i do"... i was like "great now you will ban me for arguing or something right. i bet you dont even work for anet you just want me to believe that you do" so he said "look above my head" so i did and then it appeared.... a big green shiny symbol of the letters GM... it was so cool. i wish i had gotten a screen shot but i was in such awe that i just froze. he even had the ce even though it is supposed to be delayed.... but anyways. another GWG member was there but i dont want to give his name for reasons that I might get in trouble or something. but he will know who he is if he sees this. it was so cool. my only regret is not getting a screeny.

I hope your right

Heh, almost a year ago, right into post-searing, I was running a girl ranger toon in an instance with three henchmen, when green text popped up and said, "Sir, can I ask you a question"? Didn't know what to do, so I just ignored it. Maybe it was a survey or something.
Just goes to show that they can pop into the game anytime, anywhere.

kinda wish they had been around for the massively stupid argument in the alliance battle area last night... They were flooding chat with the intellect of 2yr olds fighting over cookies >_<
At this point I dare a GM get into an argument with me -
Factions letdown + burnt $60 + pregnancy hormones = not such a nice person XD
Besides they are just people like everyone else -_- I never did understand the whole fame and gooogoogahgah over people stuff....

i always make it a point to never insult somone that can push a button and whope me from that playerbase...maybhe thats why some folks used to call me a buttlicker lol.....(althought i think yeswoman might be a little more realistic heheeh)

Yeah as you can see the guy is in the NERF guild, which speaks for itself. He must of gotten a hand in Factions.
I don't doubt that there are ANET game devs here as well, posing as fanboys, hyping up the game as well as ANET. Heck, if I was working at ANET I would do the same. Sure, it's shameless, but it's the internet so there is anonymity. More importantly, it is JOB SECURITY. If you can promote and keep a certain game alive, you won't ever fear of losing your job. Keep an eye out fellow members. An eye out for that overzealous member ...

The "GM" letters look kind of fake, but that might be due to your graphics settings. Either way, the fact that he's in [NERF] speaks for itself.

It's called E-marketing. Using IMs, Chatrooms and Forums to promote products through a false "word of mouth"
Ever made a friend through the internet and they always have the latest scoop about something and always IM you with "OMG you gotta buy this new (insert link here)!! Its so awesome!!" ?
They might be a marketer They maintain specific persona accounts and are managed by multiple users who keep lists of friends/buddies to market to.
Who knows...i might be one!!
>.> Well...i used to be...
