Skill rewards in quests, are they gone?
Arzon
I haven't got any quest with skills as rewards yet. There use to be a lot of those in Prophecies. Are they gone in Factions?
Kaguya
Looks like getting a working toolset for Factions-based chars is tricky, suppose that's partly the reason why almost every single quest has 1 skillpoint as a reward...
Completing the Insignia-quest after choosing secondary profession rolls up plenty of skills to, with little lectures on how to use them.

basically i just want to get confirmation that there won't be skills rewards in any quest during factions missions so I can start use my skill points. I don't want to use a skill point in a skill that i'll get later in a quest.
Kura Touzoku
I've gotten to the kurzick and luxon areas, and i haven't seen any yet, but there are plenty of skill points given out, as has been said. I'm guessing that's what's going on, since you can get 3 skill points from a mission, and each primary quest gives a skill point.
Synthetic
I haven't gotten to play a whole lot in factions yet. However, I have noticed some pretty decent gold rewards in game as well. Monsters drop crappy amounts of gold but quest rewards are way better at the early stage of the game in cantha. Leveling is also very quick so I have plenty of gold a skill points to play with so far.
CKaz
So mega money sink (very quickly 1 plat a skill) but not as much xp/skillpt-wise (xp and skillpts thru quests, caps yield some xp now, etc)
Guess they just want to beat down on our gold!

Can a Tyrian character go to the monastery and get skills awarded there?
Or is this totally a matter of "just buy any non-elite skills you want"?

Or is this totally a matter of "just buy any non-elite skills you want"? No. Tyrian characters won't get anything from Monastary, none of the quest NPCs will offer the quests, and all the doors that are opened by completing by quests stay shut.
Just ran my Cantha-born E/Rt backwards from LA to Ascalon to get some free skills, but none of the NPCs pre-LA will give quests to Canthan chars. Trying to do Ascalon missions results in error message, that this char is from wrong campaign. All missions post-LA work, and as do the quests, so there's an opportunity to catch some free skills. Assassins and Ritualists obviously won't get any skills from Tyrian quests, unless their secondary is of 'Core' class (Sorry A/Rt's and Rt/A's).
So apparently no-one can have both Protector of Tyria and Protector of Cantha on the same chara atm, same applies to Master Cartographer of Tyria and Cantha, as over 5% of area is in those missions at 'start' areas, even more so for Tyria where you miss all the area covered by Ascalon and Shiverpeaks missions.

Thanks!
So if I see a skill I want for sale in Cantha, I'll just buy it. Great!
First one -- Ward of Stability.
EDIT: Or maybe the duplicate Crystal Wave.
Although that leads to running Ether Renewal builds without Stone Daggers, which is scary ...
