First off, It's a veeery long time since I posted here lol so forgive me if I dont know the new personalities =P

Well, Lets get the story goin... About 11(ish) months ago I came upon a game called Guild Wars and came completely hooked =P My summer was lost to the damn thing lol.

Thanks to GW i was hooked on MMORPG's and bought WoW =(

I lost 6 months to the damn thing and when I came out of my shady corner I noticed rumbling of Factions... I dismissed it untill today lol....

I was perusing the site and looking at all the Factions stuff and just wanted to say damn you all to hell =P

Ive scrimped up all my savings for the big show-offery version of Factions and I'm going to dissappear for a few years =P

That's what was said about Factions when Prophecies first came out, and how long did it actually take?

Yeah...highly unlikely I'd say.

lol, I tried to play GW a few mins ago...

Im a noob lol =P

Im sat there tryin to execute all the kick ass WoW combos and my W/R is like "Wah?" lol

Maybe, but the official word is they've been working on it for 6 months already - two dev teams, overlapping, giving each chapter 1 years dev work - Factions has had 1 years dev, and that team will be starting work on chapter 4 soon

I agree with jo3l. Just saying you have people working on it doesn't mean a friggin' thing, official or not. Since when (recently) has any major/anticipated game development ever come out the time it was supposedly announced? I can't name any right now cuz I don't feel like thinking all too much at the moment but I can definitely say not many.

Better yet...if you want to actually put forth the time and effort to answer/counter my previous question to prove me otherwise, why don't you also gather a list of major/highly-anticipated games that have been delayed recently *cough* ZELDA *cough* and compare the numbers. Yeah...makes ya feel all tingly dun it?

Bottom-line: Statements fail. I'll be proven wrong/admit I am wrong only when I see it for myself 6 months from now.

I always add 2-3 months to any release date anyway.....gotta keep my hopes low. It's mandatory.

WRONG

they stated that AFTER chapter 2 they would be out every 6 months with 2 staggered teams giving 1 yeat to each chapter.

official statement is that chapter 3 is right on schedule having started 6 months after the release of chapter 1 and will be out oct/nov .

the big delay on chapter 2 is that a year takes 12 months to prime the pipeline.

I think you quoted me on the wrong part there. That thing I said there is in relation to the release dates of any and all games, not just Guild Wars. It's something I do myself when in anticipation of any game that's coming out/game I want/etc.

I don't care whether you think I'm right or wrong. You have no definite proof other than a statement from ArenaNet/NCSoft. Unfortunately, that's not enough to win me over on this. There is no way in hell you can be 100% positive about something that has yet to be set in stone as a true and honest fact. It's illogical to think otherwise unless your loyalties to spoken and written word blind you from seeing that as an obvious truth.

Didn't some official guy say that it would take 1 year to make every chapter?

0 Chapter 1 released, work on chapter 2 starts
6 work on chapter 3 starts
12 release of chapter 2, start work on chapter 4
18 release of chapter 3, star 5
24 release 4, start 6
etc...

That way every chapter gets 1 year of making but gets released with 6 months intervals?

Or am I listening to the MoM again? (Ministry of Misinformation)

This does make sense and I thank you for the clarification, but I'll still just end up waiting it out and seeing for myself if the consistency of releases holds up in the end. My distrust with statements/announcements is just in general. I was unaware of any direct plan from ArenaNet/NCSoft mainly because I was uninformed.

For everyone's sake, I hope it does because if it doesn't, I can guarantee that pratically everyone that believes it'll hold right now will say, "I knew this crap would happen." or something along those lines. Player faith is all in A-net's hands.
