Training Quests

I'm in the monestary trying to do the training quests for my mesmer/assasin. I'm having a problem with the skill chaining quest. I did the quest for my warrior and got through it fairly quickly, but for some reason it won't end on my mesmer.

The combos I'm supposed to use are mantra of peristance with imagined burden and critical eye with skill that gives you health whenever you score a critical hit. I was in there for ten minutes using the combos but nothing's happening. Will it not count it until I actually score a critical and get the health gain from that skill? If so, that's a bit rediculous considering I'm an assasin secondary and can't put points in crit strikes.

Does anyone know exactly what triggers the skill chaining quest to end?

Since Factions is fairly new. Bugs?

possible. I'm skipping it for now to do some more quests, I'm just hoping that I'll be able to finish it.
