Getting Around cantha?

Just curious does anyone know if it's required that I do the missions to get around cantha?

In order to access luxon and kurzick areas, yes you must follow the story line to be admitted to those areas. If you are wondering if you can make a new character and get him run all the way to the last mission at level 1 or some other low level, my guess is no. But, the misisons aren't hard. Quite a few people have beat the game already.
