Cantha can be tricky for unexpierienced players. I'm not saying I know everything, but Ive noticed some differences between Tyria and Cantha and I'm posting this to help newer players.
SHING JEA GUIDE
First of all, you MUST do all primary quests to continue into Cantha. So do the primary quests up to changing your second profession. If you REALLY want exp, do ALL the second profession quests. You get an estimate of 21,650exp! Now before doing the first mission (Minister Cho's Estate) do all the quests you can find. After the mission again, do all the quests before the mission. Once you feel you have enough exp and your ready to move on, do the primary quests until you make it to Zen Daijun. After completing the mission, do both +15 attrib point quests (Located in Ran Musu Gardens and Seitung Harbor) head off to the mainland. On the mainland if you cannot complete a primary, do others for the exp.
QUESTING WITH HENCHIES
IMPORTANT NOTE! If you are not expirienced with henchies from prophecies, I ask you not to try in Cantha. It would be extremely difficult.
Henchies in some cases are better then other players. Here are some tips with them.
1) ALWAYS bring a self heal! Basically suicide without one, as healer henchie sucks.
2) WATCH YOUR AGGRO! If you aggro too much with henchies, its over. Go slowly group by group.
3) If monk falls in battle, rez. The monk is very important in henchie groups.
4) Try to bring a rez that recharges, makes things alot easier. Rez signet is fine, but sometimes you may find yourself into a position where you need the rez.
5) Dont you hate when your in the middle of a hard quest and you have like 60dp? Dont quit because of that, let the henchies do the work. Meleers I dont know what to say, but spell casters wand the enemy you want henchies to attack, run back and when he's busy fighting use spells.

A: You cannot buy ANY assassin/ritualist armour/skills in Tyria. (Other then FoW)
is somewhat incorrect because FoW can be accessed from Cantha.
Nice job regardless.

Another thing, I think you ought to suggest using collector's armor considering material prices are skyhigh.
