10 uses against AL60 dummy. 16 swordsmanship. Average value recorded.
Without Sundering 20/20:
Galrath: 77.5
Sun/Moon: 78.7
With Sundering 20/20:
Galrath: 79
Sun/Moon: 84.7
Notice the dramatic improvement of Sun/Moon with sundering. One reason I suspect might be that the sundering chance is calculated for each separate attack, so you get double the chance with 2 attacks. However the min and max of Sun/Moon is spread over a bigger range compared to Galrath. I've had as low as 55 damage and as high as 104. Lastly, each subsequent Sun/Moon takes 6 hits to charge, whereas Galrath takes 7. Also Sun/Moon is guaranteed to hit at least once.

This is where different types of damage reduction come into play. Lets say you have a 60 al target with a base damage reduction of 10. It would only subtract 10 from Galrath, but would subtract an average of 20 from Sun and moon, assuming it hits both times. Now, the killer for galrath is percentage damage reduction such as protective spirit, limiting the average player to a hit anywhere between 53-44 damage in one hit. This would barely affect Sun and Moon slash at all. Analyzing your target is essential for knowing the type of attack to use, but usually works better for PvE, were opponents are predictable.

Try that with vampiric and see that
I suspect it should be along the lines of:
Galrath = 80.5
Sun/moon= 84.7

Can someone enlighten me as to what Sun/Moon Slash is exactly? I haven't done much with my old warrior in Cantha yet. Mostly been working on getting my 2 new characters to 20.
Valerria
Sun/Moon is an non-elite skill. 8 adrenaline, you strike target foe twice. 1st hit cannot be blocked and 2nd hit cannot be evaded.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. Can it be bought or quested for pretty early on in Cantha or is it something I will have to wait a while to get?
Katari
I'm not sure where you first purchase the skill naturally, but if you unlock the skill on your account you'll be able to buy it at the first skill npc that you see.
pegasux
it's available in the first town at the skill trainer
