Quick question:
I'm about to run to the Grotto with my warrior to pick up 15k Glad.
I already have a -2 absorption rune I can use (got it on drop) and I know that this rune will not stack with other absorption runes.
I do know that Ascalon pieces provide a -2 absorption but also do not stack with each other.
My question is ... will the rune and ascalon piece stack together for a -4 absorption or do they not stack with each other, making it pointless to get an Ascalon helm?

Gotta really agree that the FOW armor looks nice only if dyed all black and is worn without the helmet and with a large shield. The botton looks horrible disproportioned.

Just wait till chapter three when theres nicer helms available also, fow is still known as prestigious, but also ugly

Kurzick does look nice, but there’s no way it has the uniqueness that Obsidian Armour has.
As for the blurring. Everyone but yourself in towns has details on their armour lowered. I don't think your graphics card could put up with 100+ people moving at full detail. Take a picture of in and out of towns with other players. You'll notice their armours details are heavily increased when out of towns. FoW armour does look crap in towns.

I think its a close run thing between 15K Kurzick and FoW. I was going for FoW but opted for 15k Kurzick that I got with the sale of some shards. I also bought 15K for a guildie as well.

I had the money for FoW and was about to get the ectos and such so i could buy it, but then i realised... it does not look good in its full set. i do not PERSONALLY like what it looks like... you own it and have spent alot of money and effort on it, so it is understandable you will get defensive when people put it down.
but with the release of factions i really do think FoW armor has been beaten on looks by 2 sets of armor...

But have you noticed that all Canthan armours look better in their down-sampled forms than the Tyrian armours? ANet must have changed the algorithm, but not updated the Tyrian textures yet.

My warrior is one of my fav chars (under my monk of course ^^), so here are my armors...i image shacked them because there to big to put in plain sight.
^Axe armor, combo of 1.5k kurzick with 15k glads chest (knights all)
^Hammer armor (100 al with 13 str, great for tanking and what not) and i also use this armor for running.
^Sword armor, just because i love the dye + ids =P

Hmmm ... in terms of FOW armor, obviously taste plays a large part. So does character gender. I do find 15k Kurzick looks good on males, but rather bleh on female warriors. FOW on the other hand I find looks better on females than males.
At the present, I'm wearing 15k Glad, which I love as it matches a look I'm trying to cultivate ... but I would looooove to get full FOW because nothing makes female warriors look like a wall of pain like FOW given that most full plate style armors look ugly as sin on the "fairer" sex.
