hi, ive recently decided to go with monks because out of all the MMORPG games ive played, ive never really played a healing class since i was rather selfish and preferred showing off with massive burst dmg than say the ability to save lives (ive never played warrior either for that matter)...
...but ive finally decided to give a healing class a go...so what would everyone say is the best combination for a monk thats totally self-sacrificing and only focused on surviving to give the best heal potential?
im planning on of course eventually being pvp focused but i dont really want to jump into it too early on - whats a good 2nd prof for monks so that i can give the best healing output?? this doesnt necessarily mean most hp healed, since if im as crisp as paper i wont really last to heal :P
all opinions are greatly appreciated...thx in advance!
Best Self-sacrificing Monk build?

Well, ideally all monks should be focused solely on defense, as they don't make great offensive players, with the minor exception of smiting, but that is only good when used to aid others damage.
For starters you'll want to choose an attribute, either healing or protection, and stick to it. Of course as you play different areas you can switch between them, but keep in mind that only using one at a time is key to being good at it (it's better to be good at one thing than mediocre at two.) That being said, your secondary doesn't need to be used at all for healing, and people generally use it as energy management (since monks have terrible e.management as it is.) Most go with mo/me, since the entire inspiration magic line is based on energy management. Look around on the forum for specific builds, but as a general rule it's better to actually read all the skills you get and decide which to take based on which is best for what you need. Things to think about when deciding on skills:
energy cost
cast time
recharge time
healing power (raw hp)
conditional healing power (ie. only get healed if ____ )
hex and condition removal
It is important to be able to remove hexes and conditions from your ally, as you'll often be the only one who can.
