I haven't had any luck at the rune trader, so I tried farming for a while and only Tyrian runes dropped for me. Has anyone gotten Canthan runes on Tyria ?

Thanks.

tyrian ettins dont even drop tyrian runes since the nerf, so the answer is nope.

I love it when people think its nerfed after maybe one try. I decided, after playing a few hours on factions, to go back and rune farm. Well, sure enough after about 20 mins I got 3 purple and a GOLD rune. Yes I said GOLD RARE RUNE. It happened to be a sup healing so its not so bad but thats for all those who claim its nerfed yet again.

as for the topic, I'd like to know the same thing!

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. I heard someone talking about farming runes and finding 30 or so, and not one of them was for assassin or ritualist. It's probably good though. How would that Prophecies only player feel if he finds a superior rune and IDs it and finds... he can't even use it :/

Well, probably the same way my ele thinks when she finds a monk healing rune , pretty dang happy if it sells for much, not so happy if it is a major (almost the crappiest items in the game, would rather see blues than purple armor - at least thier merch price is usually higher).

Though I tend to agree that there is no real reason for assasin/ritulist runes to drop in tyria. None of the professions are from there - that is game mechanics and in Anets real world financial best interests, not RP'ing. That they can not be used and are, thus, unwanted isn't a great reason, especially given that gold armor drop from a warrior may have a sup healing rune. Rather that the Canthans are a pretty insular society and will not let their runes go to other places.

I haven't ettin farmed yet, too much money is common crafting materials and too much time on my factions characters to see so I can't answer on the drops. Given what is said above, probably will not know untill prices go back to normal.

I must have awesome rune luck. Yesterday in one run I got Sup Absorption, Sup Axe, Sup Strength, Sup Domination. Today I got Sup Axe, Sup Fire, Sup Illusion, Sup Inspiration and another. Unfortunately, no Assassin or Ritualist runes dropped.

GW Tyria and Factions Cantha are stand alone games..so you won't be finding Faction runes in Tyria or visa versa.

Not entirely true. You can play the 6 core professions in Cantha and you will get runes dropped for them. My Rit already had a major axe rune drop.
