high end chests, in my experience are chests in shiverpeaks and beyond. so shiverpeaks/darkstone/miner/obsidian/phantom in tyria. I haven't been to cantha yet but I'll test there as well this week.

Canthan chests don't work, but luxon/kurzick count towards high end chests.
I'm still a noob... need to finish cartography, protector. Working on skill hunter slowly as well.
The rest I don't care about, they just slowly turn up :/ For some reason i got 250 towards friend of the luxons when I donated 5k kurzick to guild... hence the two titles

alot of people want to hit a "kind of a big deal" mark, thats why so many farm chests/buy unid golds/faction farming....

now comes which way you must devote you're self either
becoming a "Survivor" from the beginning
(insanity is insueing, you dont want to remake a character, we dont even know the top tier of this)
Devote yourself to farming faction for you're alliance
Chest Farming
Buying Gold items unidentified
and last of course, idling in a town for months consuming ale.
theres hope if you pvp!

i just got my first 2 titles am am 1/5 of the way to kind of a big deal =D ive been playing a month now. how does the elite skil caping work? there arent anywhere near 180 elementalist and monk skills. do you cap other professions? i am confused =D

Yep, you have to capture elite skills from all of the professions.
