Is anyone else THRILLED with the new armor set-up?

I love, love, love what they've done with armor crafting! In Kaineng alone, you can get 3 "styles" of armor with any stat set available (or mix/match stats and keep the same look)! There's an Ascalon set, a Shing Jea set and a Canthan set. Outside the city somewhere, I saw a crafter making a Tyrian (or did they call it Krytan?) set. You can also craft Kurzick armor in HzH and 15k Kurzick in Vasburg. For Luxon, Cavalon has 1.5k, and 15k is in Gyala Hatchery. (The Ascalon set looks like pre-sear starter armor. The Shing Jea set looks like that crafted on the island, I believe. The Canthan set is unique to K Center and has a fancier 15k counterpart after you beat the last mission. The Tyrian set (for monk) had the Wanderer's skin.) I like the 1.5k Shing Jea set for my mesmer and my ele so much that I am not bothering with their 15k Canthan sets. My monk has a sweet 15k Canthan set. I don't see any need to waste my faction collecting amber when what I have now is so pretty. Thank you, Anet!!! Yes, yes and yes. Finally 15k Attribute Helmets, Stonefist Gauntlets. Mix and match as you like, it won't ruin the look.

I got Krytan Ascetics armo for my monk, well partly.
Probably keeping my 15k Judges chest+pants, but the Krytan Ascetic handwraps rule, and got somewhat matching Canthan sandals. Really love the customization options given to us.

yes yes! this is very smart on there part. Armor being just for looks, let us get the stats we want, with the look we want!! FTW!!!
I never liekd the Glad armor set, besides teh 15k chest, but not I can get that Ascalon set with glad stats! But i got factiosn so ill save my gold on better and cooler armor

I'm loving the new armor system. I hope they apply it to more armor sets in the future... It'd be really nice if I could get the Tyrian styles.

It is excellent. I remember posts requesting this back 6 months ago or so. And we got 1.5k versions of pre-searing armor! Sweet!

That's nota drama, but I noticed fissure armos lost the only advantage they had: the fact that your oponnent dont know what kind of armor you're wearing (in PvP).

I very much like what ANet has done with armour variety. However, for a person that likes to have many sets of armour, inventory space has become a bit of a problem. I hope that the option for greater inventory space will be addressed so that we may expand our wardrobes according to our wildest desires

Since no one has replied to my thread maybe i can ask this here...
I have my ritualist past the 'starter island' and i saw that there they had the 3 styles with all the stats, so my next question is about side choosing and what not. Can you get any style or look of armor on either side?

I don't know what the Kurzick or Luxon armors (1.5 or 15k) look like. I liked the other stuff so much. We finally have what we've begged for for a year: the ability to choose how we look independent of the armor's stats. Now anyone with a PvE character in PvP will have the same advantage as the wealthy with FoW.

I'm not so excited about mixing and matching stats while maintaining a full set in terms of looks as I am about mixing and matching different looking pieces of armor while maintaining the stats I want. My Warrior has Gladiator's (15k) chest and boots, Shing Jea Knight's Gauntlets, and Gladiator's Legs (will replace most likely).

I'm loving this new setup myself. Glad I finall have a chance to get the stats I want with the skin I want. I hope they make the same upgrade to the prophecies armor sellers.

If you're trying to get Luxon armor while you're a Kurzick, the Luxon armorer won't talk to you, therefore you cant get the armor. And vice versa. I think as long as your guild doesnt choose a side, you can get both sets of armor. Not the 15k though since that means you have to get faction from either side.

I didnt even notice that.. I'd be soooooooooooo happy if I could get energy armro on my encro and not look liek a naked burn victem, btu i thought my new option was being full of spikes and naked isntead. :>
