i followed the arrows to a cave but i could not find any treasure?
please help.

There should be a female NPC in there, she's the "treasure". Wait for the guy to talk to her for a bit, and he'll give you your quest reward.

And the NPC who gave the quest must survive, so it's an escort quest. Once that NPC makes it to his 'treasure', you complete the quest, and talking to him gives you your attribute points.
