Henched or pugged all Cantha missions, did perhaps one or 2 Tyrian with guild:

Not being in a guild (I don't pvp or ff so I'm not that attractive to Guilds...) I've pug'd all missions and bonuses. I don't think I'll have another protector Cantha unless they allow you to switch factions without losing your faction (I like to keep amber stored in Kurz faction so other characters can progress easily through.

After I found out how faction worked with my first Cantha character, I gained the 10.000 Kurzick faction, went over to HzH and got the other 5 their befriend quest. Then I did all Kurzick missions including Unwaking (Kurzick part).
Then I got rid of all Kurzick faction (in the process making sure not to go over 10.000, exchanging for amber when needed).
And then started all over on Luxon side. Also worked up to 10.000, got all 5 characters their befriend quest and afterwards exchanged the faction to Jade.
Now with Nightfall I might want them also to be protector, but I have still tons of quests open on Kurzick and Luxon side (because I progressed all characters at once). So that should not be too hard.
