I'm having trouble coming up with a good reason to use any assassin skills with my spirit ritualist. I know the combo doesn't necessarily work that well, but that's what makes the game more challenging; find the skill combos that will work between tough profession choices!

Any suggestions, or has anyone found something that seems to work while incorporating some assassin skills?

I choose Rt/A just to unlock skills for PvP quicker, but I'm going to change it as soon as I can and just make an Assassin later.

I wanted to get all the skills unlocked for PVP ASAP. Plus I love the look of the rit and wanted to make one. So this was my logic too. Now I don't have to burn 40k faction to unlock things (just possibly elites that I want) which is good!

In regards to the OP's question, I find that the only assassin skill I use so far is Dash. Seriously it rocks. I thought for sure it would not be so good... 3 seconds and 15 recharge time? But really that 50% boost is great. Everything else on my bar so far is ritualist though (keep in mind Im only lvl 12-13)

Yeah, I've bought Dash now, and combined with the assassin elite "Shadow Form", you can run through areas pretty well as a ritualist.

If you get the armour that gives +15 armour when you have a weapon spell on, and use an appropriate weapon spell, like vital weapon or resiliant weapon, then your armour/damage soaking ability would increase enough to be comparable to other assassins and warriors...

ie, vital weapon - 5 energy, 1 sec cast time. Lasts 30 sec.
from 60 to 75 armour.
+130-165 health.

Resilient weapon - 10 energy, 2 sec cast time. Lasts around 20 sec.
from 60 to 75 armour. If hexed or conditions, then 101 armour.
+5 regen when hexed or conditioned as well...

Or Brutal - 10 energy, 1 sec cast time, lasts around 17 sec.
75 armour + an extra 13-14 damage per hit. Which could cover having fewer points in dagger mastery, etc.

Or you work out a cruel was daoshen/destruction/draw spirit/rupture soul bomb and use your ninja aviodence skills to get in close. Actually, just testing this, in the isle of the nameless testing area, this can spike damage in an area and does over 200-300 damage. at skill levels 10-11... using shadow step to pull yourself out of the action once the bomb has detonated?
