Advice please: Runner Competition

Hi Everybody,

My guild came into a small amount of money lately. We decided to spend it in fun ways that would encourage good PvP play within our membership. So our first event will be a flag runner competition.

The idea is that we get into a scrimage match. Only one player on each team actually competes. The others are there as spectators, they can sac if they want to watch more closely. The first one to gain a moral bonus wins (is one bonus enough?).

I'd appreciate any insite from the community on:

1.) Ways to make it lots of fun.
2.) Ways to keep it as faithful as possible, given the limitations, to true flag running.
3.) Victory conditions.

Cheers,
pin

PS. Any secret exploits on how to win in this artificial environment should be directed my way by PM. I need the cash :-)

I'm assuming it'll be allowed to attack your oppenent. Snares FTW.

My guild is thinking up of something simmilar too, it sounds fun to take part in. Only issue is finding a guild hall with an equal distance between bases.

Of course. The aim will be to make it as much like a real GvG runner vs. runner environment as possible.

I'm hoping the same kind of build is rewarded as it would be in GvG. So people will be bring running skills and snaring skills and killing skills and hex/condition removal skills and healing skills. etc.

Some things might not be quite the same. And I think basically it will come down to who gets the first kill. If they are rangers then high ground will be critical. It wont be possible to call for support. I am wondering if the necro hall might offer the best strategic possiblities.

I also worry about the fact that capping first might be a mistake and what happens if nobody caps and it ends up as a kiting fest. Maybe after 10 minutes it comes down to NPC kills would add a bit of interest.
