Ascending factions characters in the desert!

Is this possible? I plan to ascend my lvl 17 ritualist at the desert and warp over to ToA and collect FoW armor.

Am I able to fight doppleganger with my new ritualist?

If not, where can I ascend?

I can't answer, BUT - someone posted a way to get to FoW from Cantha, so you can save yourself some work

Edit: Might not work if not ascended...

you can ascend, just like any other character, otherwise you could just go to fow from zin ku corridor when your region has favour.....

Probably because it's faster just to get to mission 4 in Cantha.

you cannot travel to lion's arch until you ascend in cantha....

only ascended charcaters can get the quest to travel back and forth

Thanks. Doing it in Factions will be much much faster and esier than going all the way to the desert and doing it. Doing it in ch1 will be waste of time when you can do it in just one mission vs 3 + you mirror.

Alright, please someone that has done this and atleast knows what their talking about, please answer. I don't care about the level of difficulty, I simply want to know if it's possible (and has been tested) to ascend a factions character in prophecies.

No sweat, I ascended my character today - took about 1 hour total, including the desert quests and fighting doppleganger to get that done. I did get a run from Lion's Arch to Sanctium Cay. But it's quick and easy and there don't seem to be any level limits - my character was a 12 when it bought it over. Now I'm back in Factions.

this is completely false. I took my rit over to LA before even getting to the 4th mission, and did a few quests and missions around Kryta. It's funny seeing noobs freak out at my super secret character that's an Rt. I make up what I am.

You can change profession and enter Fissure of Woe / Underworld after you beat Napui Quarter. So it does toggle the "Ascended flag" for your character.

This isn't as bad of an idea as you are all making it out to be.

Have any of you tried to get a PUG with an Assassin? It's quite annoying. I've henched just about everything as I've totally given up on getting PUG's, and I won't even get started on the idiots dropping out of groups and such. Now that I've arrived at the Marketplace it hasn't gotten much better, but I will be forced to find groups or get guildies to help me once I get to the harder missions...

How many people have seen this:

"Making group 4/8 for XXX, NO ASSASSINS! Need Healers!"

Ascending in the desert is hardly a waste of time as most groups there would probablly LOVE to have an assassin in the mix. Not to mention you could get rushed to Amnoon, ran all over the desert, and get a runner for 1-2 of the 3 required missions before ascension. Then maybe once your a level 20 assassin somebody MIGHT want to group with you in Cantha.

Just a thought.

I am curious about this, my question is if I "ascend" in Cantha, can I go to LA > Sanctum > Amnoon > Augry and fight my doppleganger without doing the desert missions?

I guess I will find out soon enough because I plan on trying this on my necro. But I really want to get to Droks, without going through Beacons if its possible to just skip the desert missions entirely. If not I'll just get a runner to droks.

Today I finally got my Rt20 to the dopple ganger in the desert, and completed ascension this way as well as having done the misson in Cantha.

I used all necro sac skills to defeat the dopple ganger, you may ask why I did this if I was ascended well first and for most I want the Title Protector of Tyria and Protector of Cantha on all my Characters and beating the dopple ganger is actually classed as a misson how else do you get 25/25.
