Buy Factions First, Still Link Later (via Prophecies)?

I know there has been a lot of talk and repeated posts on linking GW accounts, but I have not found this question asked. Which means then, that either this isn't a problem or no one has encountered it yet.

I used to play GW, but stopped and gave my account to a friend. I just bought Factions last night in an attempt to get back into it all. When I go to create an account I have the option to link it to Prophecies. I was planning on playing a bit of Factions now and possibly visiting Tyria again later. If I go ahead with Factions (and get my four characters who have access to Cantha), can I buy Prophecies later and link my accounts then (via Prophecies), or do I have to buy and install Prophecies first and then use Factions to link them?

I am afraid to go ahead and start playing Factions because I keep reading that you can't go back and link accounts once you've made a decision in Factions, and I'd really hate to not be able to link them.

If this is a dumb or repeated question, my apologies. I don't want to cause problems on this board because I plan to visit frequently. Thanks for the help.

You can do exactly that, accounts are linkable 'in either direction'. As long as you don't use two different login email accounts you will not be able to make a mistake and create two seperate accounts.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I mean, I'd imagine Anet would update Prophecies to support it...but with the whole "no new characters before Lion's Arch" I had some doubt starting to form in my mind. Thanks again!
