Hi

So i was just wondering how effective people ahve found ritualist restoration healers to be.

Playing one i have found that they have a few VERY nice skills (recuperation and preseration are the best imo), a few pretty nice skills (spirit transfer (a 200+ hea for ten energy, but neads 1/3 the health to be taken of a spirit) soothing memories (if your holding an item this costs 2 energy for a 90+ heal) and mend body and soul ( a fairly decent heal combined with condition removal) Also to be metioned is vengeful weapon, probably most like RoF but does the same heal regardless of hit (assuming person attacking is not nearly dead, and has the added damage effect).

However, apart from the lack of divine favour bonuses, the other problem i have come across is the long recharge on many of these skills (normally 3-5 seconds) which prevents ajor spamming of heals.

Another thing i was fairly please dabout was managing to take a team through a mission without any monks, with the only deaths being on the warrior that enjoyed using frenzy + heal sig t 60% dp :O

So what are your thoughts on which ones are better? (my opinion is that ritualists are better in protracted fights, as they cant run through their energy so fast, and will get more bonuses from their long lasting spirits in a long fight, whereas monks are better for outbursts then regen.)

I find that Rt are better at healing the entire group at once whereas monks are good at healing individuals.

I have to vote on Rit as well.

1)Not as much attention as a monk draws.
2)Cooldowns so you don't spend all your energy in a couple of seconds.
3)Has spirits which aid in healing as well.

Well, for high dmg very quickly, were a person needs insane amounts of fast healing (a spike per say) a Monk is far far better then a ritualist. And divine favor adds to it quite a bit, people underestimate that (aka an E/Mo actually isnt as effective of a healer as a Mo/X)

Rits are good healers, but they are more maintence healers when u get right down to it. I like my rit, he is Rt/Mo and plays a prolonged/quick healing role. splitting between monk and ritualist skills. Recuperation is an excellent spirit, providing a +3 mending for the whole team in its area for a LONG TIME, without the edrain of maintaining mending (what monk would do that anyways.... wait! mending makes u run faster!! I forgot!...... )

So, I give healing to the monk, because they can do short term healing using spells like Ethereal Light for 5 energy for 100 healing (at 5 energy, u rly dont run out quickly) and massive heals for the party (heal party, two enchantments on yourself then release enchantments) Rits are still very good though, but I give the medal to monks still, mainly because of divine favor being free healing.

I think it is obvious that monks take the gold in this one. Ritualists are no doubt very good healers, but monks are just so much more versatile than a ritualist is.

I have to say though that having a Ritualist back up a monk works very well due to the fact that you can have the Rt cast weapon spells while the monk can cast the enchantments. So you don't have to worry about double enchanting with the same spell like RoF or Prot Spirit. Guardian + Weapon of Warding for example is a good combination.
