Domination Magic

<>Pleading Submission: 10 Energy, 1 Cast, 15 Recharge<>

Spell. If target foe is suffering from 4...2 or more Mesmer Hexes, that foe is knocked down for 3 seconds. When the target recovers, all Mesmer hexes are removed from that target.

(I used Gale spell as a reference, but extended the recharge time. Good for situation when you want particular hexes to last just that little bit longer on say... a monk.)

<>Dumbfounded: 10 Energy, 2 Cast, 30 Recharge<>

Hex Spell. For 10 seconds, target foe takes 10% longer to cast spells. If this hex ends while target foe is casting a spell, that spell is interrupted and disabled for an additional 10...30 seconds.

(Notes: The after effects of this hex wont affect the caster if it is self-cured before it ends, or like backfire, wait it out.)

Illusion Magic

<>Illusion of Death. 10 Energy, 1/4 Casting, 60 Recharge <>

Elite Spell. If you have less than 10...50% health, you lose all health and become dead. After 10 Seconds, you are revived with 10...50% health and 10...25% energy. You recieve no death penalty for dying this way.

(I just noticed that you effectively remove all hexes, enchantments and conditions when you use this, so I made it an Elite.)

Inspiration Magic

<>Inspiring Stance: 10 Energy, 3 Cast, 30 Recharge<>

Enchantment Spell. For 10 seconds, the next stance used by target ally will be disabled for an additional 20 seconds. Whenever target ally activates a stance while under the effects of Inspiring Stance, all nearby, non-stanced allies enter that stance as well and inspiring stance ends.

(Notes: OK, so if nearby allies are already in a stance, they wont be affected)

<>Mantra of True Sight: 10 Energy, Instantaneous, 60 Recharge {elite}<>

Stance. For 10...22 Seconds, you are 10...50% more likely to strike with attacks. You gain 2 energy if you successfully hit while blinded, or while under the effects of skills that hinder your chances to attack.

No Attribute

<>Signet of Timliness. 2 Casting, 20 Recharge.<>

Signet. Cast a spell within the next 3 seconds and it will recharge 33% faster.

Criticisms welcome, improvements welcome, i'll do my best to reply to any questions/nerfs/overpowerments

I like the first two a lot Terra, but I agree that the third one is pretty confusing - I don't quite get it. <(^_^)>

Looks like you have a good mind for skill design though - i'd like to see your full post when you do that!

I think this one should be altered.

This way it is more like a fake of dying rather than a kill yourself spell. The reason for the lower health rather than the higher is so that you can try and fake the enemy out. If you are at full health and are being chased by a warrior and you fake your death, they will know what skill was used and will stand their and wait for you to revive. Now while you have around 10% health the warrior may actually believe that you died and didn't fake it. Maybe even consider lowering the life amount to 25% and less. Of course this skill would have to not have a great visual effect, if any at all and would have to be cast in 1/4 of a second to actually be able to fool a human player. Even at that I doubt it will work with the better players. I like the idea though.

I'm sorry, but if anyone were to disable my stance for an extra 20 seconds I would want to go to their house and stab them. Twice.
Also Illusion of Death is a little iffy......

oh come on, great magicians fake their deaths all the time.... even a few celebrities have tried this... elvis for example.... *cough* j/k

Edited: Illusion of Death

Inspiring stance is fine just the way it is, it gives it that limited use like Auspicious Incantation has, I suppose if it was self targetting only... it could be good...

I'm not in favor of teh death one, but I'm sure there'll be others who'd like it.
But depending on who you use the stance thingy on it could work. If someone's whirling defense recharge time were to be extended that'd be hell. Also I am a stance tank and I love my Melandru's Resilience, one of the many ways I don't die, and if anyone were to stop that one, I'd stab them 5 times. w00t!

Sorry for the triple posting.
But anyway I just though of a great mesmer skill!!
Not sure what category this'll fall under
Actor's Salvation:
15Energy, stance, recharge time 30 seconds.
When you're knocked down, you immediately stand up and all foes arond you take 30-89 illusionary damage. (yes you still get knocked down so you get inerrupted or whatever)

You could make it an Elite enchantment spell and it be somethign like this:
15e, enchant spell, recharge 15s
for the next 10....30 sec the next time target ally would be knocked down foe that knocked you down is knocked down for 3 sec instead and takes 30....89 illusion dmg.

May need a little re-wording but you get the idea

what if when you are illusion of death'ed and then your team mate revived you?! do you get dp that way?!

the IoD just seems to be quite over powered... all you need to do is fake death when you are about to die, then if the chasing mob/enemy waits, you can wait for reinforcements... if they don't you are revived with no danger...

oh also, imagine after you IoD'ed, then a enemy ranger comes up and start massively sets traps around you LOL

pleading submission seems a good combo with shatter delusion just before they get up...

Pleading+Wastrals ftw? I actually like this skill on paper, though I worry about hex spam abuse. The reason why KD is as popular as it is rght now is that there are not many coutners to it. I'd hate to see people start grumbling about MesWAY M/Rs...

IoD is still overpowered, even as an elite. Unconditional removal of all conditions and hexes for 10 mana and some downtime? Blast spells down to 10 mana to beat down the other team (with some sac skills to self burn HP) then IoD and they can't retaliate (on you that is). I like the idea of playing possum, but it opens up the possibility of abuse. A compromose could be to lose all mana on rez and reduce health gained to a very small ammount. Simular to Shadow Form's appearant self-nerf for the granting of nigh-invincibility.

And you have to worry about bad players as well as good when considering skills. As has been stated: IS+Frenzy ftl. Since many castor builds have no stances, they also have no way to remove a stance that could hurt them.
