lately been posting a lot of question threads - haha sry...and yes i have been using the search option and yes i have been reading forums :P just for some reason what i need specifically not really answered though im learning a lot every day!

Mo/Me
i dont understand or now how to allocate attribute pts lol...im thinking 9ish in inspiration, 10 ish in divine favor, rest in prot

Dwayna's Kiss
Healing Touch (self-heal)
Inspired Hex or Remove Hex
Mantra of Recall {E}
Channeling
Power Drain
Reversal of Fortune or Guardian
Divine Boon

pretty much a pvp build and im hoping a build that would be a main healer (not backup)...mm would this work well? or are there crazy holes in it cause im just..pretty much a n00b still haha.

for pve id drop mantra of say WoH and drop divine boon for orison healing and drop channeling or power drain for a rebirth...iunno but thats for pve where apparently e-management is less important, you can rest more, and you can focus purely on heals sorta lol.

thx for critique, advice, clarifications.

ps - whats so good about Contemplation of Purity exactly?

Hi.

This isnt a healer build without points in healing now is it?

You have skills from four lines here and this is a bad idea for a monk. If you are a newbie player using power drain is a bad idea because quite simply you wont have the skill level to use this. My guild is in the top 200 and I wont bring it either because I simply dont have the attention for it and I have 1500 hours of play.

In Heroes ascent the main healer is the word of healing monk with heal party.

Here is a standard woh/hp Monk.

Monk/Mesmer

Healing 14
Divine 9
Inspiration 10

Dwaynas Kiss
Orison of Healing
Word of Healing
Heal Party
Healing Seed
Holy veil
Inspired Hex
Channeling

This is a good build for HA inside of a three monk backline.

If you want to GVG then here is a standar boon prot, he heals :P

Divine 14
Prot 9
Inspiration 10

Reversal of fortune
Gaurdian
Protective spirit
Mend condition
Contemplation of Purity
Inspired Hex/Holy Veil
Divine Boon
Mantra of Recall

Three attribute lines are all you want to be using.

Do not run Sup runes on a Monk if you are using a PVP only character. If you have a PVE character use sup rune if you think you can get away with it.
I haver been on 10 or so health countless times and survived, Superior rune would have been death for me.

What is so good about contemplation of purity?

It can remove all hexes from a monk and heal him for 75 health (at 14 divine) per enchantment cast on him - It is a SKILL - Thereby negating the effects of backfire/soul leech etc

It is 1/4 second cast meaning it almost never can be interrupted Those two things means that It is a very nice skill :P

well sam, thats about all the love i can give out in a single night...that pretty finished me up to 100% on what i needed/wanted to know. i plan on using the first build setup you wrote for pve and the 2nd for pvp, thx a lot - finally, i can get into the game...but at least i sort of understand all the different skills/lines a lot better now heh...though i really am tempted to use power drain somewhere...but i guess not yet haha.

I see but the first build in this thread is for pvp. I hope you are referring to the other thread for the PVE build

Monks should never specialise in both healing and prot. Choose one attribute and pump it up along with divine favor. Healing touch is ok since it's really a divine favor spell if you think about it.
