Ok so like... pre-sear got most people up to level 5 or 6 before they left if you did the majority of quests.
From what I have heard, the new "pre-sear" area for factions will take you up all the way to level 19 o_O. Is that true?
so like.. most of the factions game is for level 20 characters?
shing jea levels?

I have left the Island ranging from level 14 to 17. You could very well make 20 if you stayed around longer. Once you go to the "main lands" area level 20 is a good place to be.
IMHO - the factions area "pre" gets you to a level equal to that of the post area Lions Arch char in Prophecies. As that is an area you can travel to not to long after reaching the "main land" area.

Yes once you leave the "island" your about level 17ish if you do most of the really fun quests.
It really doesn't feel like presearing though...as it has the first two missions in the game that start the story line.
Yes, you will level MUCH faster in Cantha.

It's definitely different, I can't say I like it. I was always opposed to rushing through the storyline via running or powerleveling. It's not like we're being forced to skip anything, but I really did like the gradual progression Prophecies had. All this does is basically rush you through the lower level content so you can get to the real point of the game - high level content. And that's what I'm not too fond of. But overall, Cantha is fun, especially once you make it to the Kurzick/Luxon areas.
The only real complaint I have is the current economy. It was inevitable, but pretty much all material prices were driven up(such as cloth, tanned hide, iron) and especially Steel Ingots(which are selling for 300-350g each now). Spending 19K on the Imperial armor in Bukdek Byway is crazy. All the armor crafters require larger amounts of rare materials, which makes it so much more of a pain to get the armor you need. Then there's the matter of runes; unless you're willing to shell out large sums of gold, you can't even get a hold of the runes you need. Of course it will get better over time, but it's just extremely annoying right now.
