I think there is something wrong with GW timing (regarding MiniPet)

Urg, my character was created on 5/3/05 (know this for a fact cuz the GW folder in my program file indicated that it was created on that day). Today was already 5/4/06 and I have yet to get my present yet even though I left ton of room for it in my inventory -_-

I have the same problem. My first character ever made was made the day before the game was released. This was the preview event for GW Prophecies. I know for a fact that I never deleted this character, because I still use it!!!
I never deleted it and made another character with the same name, or anything like that. The character is long over due a present, and it is annoying me.
I get two sets of information when I type /age
The first says This character has been played for 4149425 hours over the past 10 months. (I made up the number, but the 10 is correct, and it implies that I have only had this character for 10 months.)
You have played on this account for 425346546 hours over the past 12 months. (I made up the large number, but the 12 is correct, and it implies I have had my account for 12 months, which IS correct)

So I emailed support, and told them my problem. They messaged me saying whatever the number I get when I type /age is, is the age that the server has, and it has to be correct. I am not going crazy, it is a fact that this character was made the day before the game was released. Was there a server roll back?

Seem like it, cuz when I typed in /age, they said I only have the account for 11 months only -_-. This information is wrong because beside the date on my GW folder, I also still keep my receipt of my GW and it also indicated the same date, 5/3/05

There was an update all the way back in July of 2005 (or could have been earlier) that changed the display of age on your characters. If I recall some people's ages were re-born so to speak. So you may have been playing longer then what your age has told you that you have been playing. I remember reading a few complaints about this on a different forum when this happened. More then likely that age update effected your account thus loosing two months of age from your first character.

Wasn't there something that caused the age to reset (a LONG time ago) - this is when this forum was going nuts because the monthly patch was still not out.

If I this was the case to get the age accurate again they would have to try and recalculate the date and it may be slight off..

For those long time players of GW... am I remembering right about the age reset after a patch update.

you are correct on the age reset as it happened to me at 316 hours of play.

HOWEVER the hours played has nothing to do with the date the character was created.

my character had 1 hour played over x number of months when i typed /age.

That sucks. Oh well, atleast my /age says 11 months.

I wish ANet would update the /age to display days as well as months. Only known that I'm at 11 months bugs the heck out of me... I wanna count down the seconds to my mini pet. :X

I agree...I'm at 11 months too and I type in '/age' whenever I login. This waiting/not knowing when my present come is killing me!
