It used to be that when you went down to SF or anywhere around there, you could maintain some enchantments, get occasionally interrupted and stripped, sometimes shattered, but it was pretty mild.
Now, it's just absolutely insane... any enchantment you put on yourself or somebody else in the group gets instantly shattered, stripped, whatever. Between that and getting savage shotted, dwarven bunny thumped, and degened, it's now instant suicide. Want to bring the henches with you? Well guess what, the healer and prot henches contantly use enchantments between heals, so they're killing you along with healing you. This isn't just in SF, it's in dreadnought's drift also. It's impossible to get anywhere anymore. Some might say, "Well don't bring or use enchants then, duh." but if you're just exploring and decide to bring the henches, you're gonna die, lots. I frequently looked like an inflated punching bag while I was getting degened and pounded to death. Hench casts protective spirit or shield of regeneration or healing breaze, instantly shattered, and kills you. In fact, I noticed the mesmer mobs were casting shatter enchantment on me when I didn't even have one on.
Am I just going crazy, or does something need to be fixed around this area? Is this some kind of update that happened that I missed? Is it like this anywhere else? What's the point of having enchantments if you can't use them anymore?
Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah, that pretty much sums up the big nerf to green farming in SF that Anet carried out awhile ago. Aswell as a few other places that they thought suitable to wave the nerf bat.
What gets me right... Is that yeah, i can understand the need for a bit of nerf here and there to keep the game balance going.. But if they are going to do that, at least give us some prior compensation before the economy zooms out of control like it has with some new (and older) greens costing 100,000 instead of 20,000 like they use to. Then only for Anet to wait for people to start exploiting a new area then repeating their nerf, Ergo sending the economy wild again.. Its a bit of a vicious circle.

Well, I wasn't really down there to farm greens recently, but I wanted to get some enslavement stones to turn into glittering dust. In any case, it turned out to be a fruitless adventure.

I did notice that my prot monk was made nearly useless and was the cause of a few deaths thanks to that Shatter Enchant spell. Pretty much made many of my spells and skills useless - had to rethink the build altogether.
I also wasn't there to farm, just for some fun.

Hmm, yeah, well there isn't much we can do about it. I think its a bit weird that Anet made SF in the first place to expand the PVE in Tyria, only to beat it to a pulp with the nerf bat later on..
Something tells me a few of the devs have a gap between the ears.

Now my curiosity has been piqued. I'm wondering two things:
1. If some of the old greens I've been hording are worth anything
2. If it's worth going down there with an e-degen build to help lower the number of shatters and other attacks.

Not really sure about the other greens, but I imagine with the new sundering update, Dragos flat bow might be going strong still.
I guess I just need to work out some other kind of strategy for going down there from now on though. Maybe not bring Lina next time, and use no enchantments.

they don't 'nerf' the drops..you experience less drops in an area the more times you visit over a certain period of time.
