I heard somewhere (i think Gaile Gray said it) that factions would have an auction house, anyone know anything about this or when it will come out?

Its not specifically an auction house..but more under the term of trade improvement.
And the release is slated for 'soon'..Gaile gave a definition of soon as being "well before the next season" or something similar.

No, she didn't say Factions would have an auction house, she said things like that were not a part of Factions, they affect all chapters and could be released at any time.

There will not be an auction house, but a better method trading system. Who knows what that means.

They should have added an Auction House right off the bat in Chapter 1, as the horrible trading system remains and always has been the biggest single thing wrong with Guild Wars.
The devs should seriously stop development on everything else until an Auction House finally gets done.

Most of the time, I'm very positive, but I'm not going to post something like "It'd rock if we'd get an Auction House!", since it's not. It's just incredibly lame that we don't have an Auction House (or something familair) yet.
Kudos to Blizzard formaking a trading system superior in every single way for WoW compared to ANet did for Guild Wars (well, they never really made a trading system..).

i can almost gaurentee there won't be an auction house, all thats been said is there will be future "trade improvements" and whenever "auction house" is mentioned around anything officially anet they're very carefull to point sideways to just basic "trade improvements."
however, theres whole list of things they've said are coming that we don't have yet like improved storage, guild storage, new emotes, reconnect/rejoin, saveable skillsets, etc, etc. so meh, not holding my breath here

when they say "trade improvements" they meen stuff like telling you when an item is customized, go figure

An Organized trading system like a barter house (auction house implys only auctions, when in fact most games make it a "set the price and people can buy it" type thing as well) would be great, but dont hold your breath for it.
Trade "Improvements" will probably just make the process slower.
Usually when a game "improves" the trade screen, it means they add stuff like having to accept twice (with "Are You Sure?" type screens). Which really doesn't help much - but saves Anet alot of time when people complain about being scammed because they can just auto-response them with "We improved the trading system against scammers".

An auction house would be great, or they could make a merchant class somewhat like Ragnarok Online. Trading needs improvement, regardless of what action is taken, the developers know this i'm sure, look at WoW, Auction House, and clickable links for items/armors/weapons in chat? That's brilliant. If guild wars had that, we wouldn't need to spam so much information. We could just link a item/armor/weapon and people could click on it, bring up the stats, and it would save time having to party up with someone, then trade with them, etc, etc, etc...

Gaile didn't exactly promise an auction house. She did say a better trading system. Most likely an auction house, but we know how a-net rolls

I dont know WoW auction house cause never played it, but I do know FFXI Auction House, and having this in GW would be a total winner. Just the fact of sitting to shout, moving districts, keep shouting, and shout and shout and shout to get 1 stupid thing vended is NOT my idea of fun in something supposed to be fun-.

MY only gripe is the broken Traders in GW. Supply and Demand is out of whack and needs a new transmission and oil change.

I think an auction house would really cut down on the WTS spam, places like LA d1 are virtually impossible to do anything other than trade in.
Maybe we could have a boat to the "merchants isle", where we'd have different places for all different kinds of transactions, keeping it seperate but also accessible to owners of all chapters.
