For those who say it's hard to tell the difference between a human and a bot, have you actually BEEN to Elona to look at these guys? It's very easy to tell, because they run a pathing script to get to the merchant after they zone in. No human player is going to crabwalk to the right wall, walk into a corner, then beeline to the merchant. Over and over and over and over, 24/7. Sure there's probably a person who runs to a computer and responds if he hears a whisper "ding" sound, but nobody is actually playing these characters.

For those of you who say they aren't hurting anything, where do you think the gold on ebay comes from?

this is like the 10th thread iv seen about this lol, but bots don't affect ur drop rate or you what so ever, so dont wrry
It's not what they do to the drop rates but what they do to the economy. They generate a huge amount of gold that they sell online. This allows people to become rich and able to afford the 100k+ price tag on rare items. If people couldn't afford the 100k+ then those that had the rare items would have no choice but to sell it for less. Someone in a different thread said that the prices of ebay gold had doubled since months back. This only means that anets updates on farming locations and droprates are having a possitive affect. The sweatshop farmers and botters have to charge more now that they bring in less gold per hour just to maintain a steady profit.

With the more recent (and best) update anet put out it increases the odds of the average player finding something for themself without having to either buy gold online or farm repetitively to get the gold to afford the 100k+ price tag. I've noticed it myself in town where people selling rare items are having a more difficult time finding a buyer.

There also increasing the ammount of rares around- so that people will be able to get there hands of really good rares, for a really low price- making items not so "rare" anymore.
Anet has done that themselves. They did this because the items were being sold at a price only 20 to 30% of the GW population can afford. Prior to the updates, the farming didn't drop prices by increasing the supply. The price of a rare weapon not found at a merchant or trader is determined by how often it drop not how many are floating around. So all this did was instead of 2 people selling the same rare item for 100k+ you now have 5 or more people selling the same rare item for 100k+. So sinse the value of an item is determined by the rate at which it drops (not the number in supply and regardless of the number being found by many) with anets update to increase the rates at which rares drop only then does the value of the items drop.

Those that refuse to sell for lower prices and continue to try and sell their rare items for outdated prices will end up (seen it already) spending more and more time trying to sell their items in town.

Latest craze is the pets. I love it when I see people selling these things for up to and over 100k. First it doesn't do anything for you second their not even rare. You get one with every collecter edition you buy and you get one if you had GW for a year. It's the lowest form of making money. Instead of exploiting weaknesses in the game people are exploiting other players lack of knowledge.Lame Lame Lame.
