No, only do the "beak of darkness" quest. Its somehting like that anyway. Just go search around in Ferndale otherwise, its surrounded by dredges

Actually the Moa spawns even after you've completed the quest.
One tip if you wanna cap it with henchies: just after you've started charm animal, sect another target and press space; henchies will attack the new target. Otherwise, they'll just kill it before the end of the 10 secs.
