Hey Guys
Just got factions today and I was trying to decide what secondary I want for my Assassin. I've decided I didn't like the puny daggers and I was flipping over the new Katanas.
Now I've been over most of the builds people have come up with and I've realised that A/W aren't the most popular. But I don't care. Has anyone come up with a reasonable build for A/W but instead of having Attributes maxed in Daggers have them maxed in Swords so the assassin can use the Katana and sword skills.

If you want to use a sword and shield you're better off going W/A. I guess skills like Bonetti's Defense might be decent for PvE...

try this build: (swd/shield)
Swd: 12
Shadow Arts: 10
Crit: 10 (rune +mask)
attack skills - based on adren:
Sever artery - (adren condition attk) If this attack hits, the opponent begins bleeding for 21 sec, loasing health over time
Gash - (adren condition/dmg attk)if this attk hits a bleeding foe, you strike for 17 more dmg and suffers a deep wound for 17 secs.
Sun and Moon Slash - (adren dmg attk) attk target foe twice. 1st attk cant be blocked, 2nd cant be evaded.
Final Thrust - (adren dmg attk) Lose all adren. If it hits, you deal 32 more dmg. This dmg is doubled if your target is below 50% hp.
Defense/Evade skills - based on energy:
Critical Defenses (enchantment) - for 6 secs, you have 58% chance to block. It refreshes every time you land a crit hit.
Viper's Defense - (stance) for 30 sec, next time you are struck you teleport to a nearby random location. Foe who struck you is poisoned for 15 secs.
Critical Eye - (skill) For 27 sec, you have an additional 5% chance to crit when attacking. You gain +1 energy whenever you score a crit.
Shadow Refuge - (enchantment) For 4 sec, you gain +8 health regen, when it ends, you gain 60 health if you are attacking.
Initially, you'll want to use Viper's defense before you go into battle. Use Crit Eye constantly and Shadow Refuge/Crit def when needed. I recommend getting a katana with +15% when enchanted, with an enchant duration bonus. You can also decide to take out Critical Defenses and replace that with disrupting blow or savage slash, or maybe even Hundred Blades, another adren attack, or even a shout like For Greater Justice or a speed bonus skill like Tiger Stance/Flurry. IMO it has decent survivability and attack, and is a good build when used with henchmen for PVE. PVP is a different story. You're better off with daggers there....

For kicks, I'd like to see someone make a Hammersin.

well you can replace that shield with an energy focus item or something... if you can find a decent shield with no tactics requirement and a bonus then its not all for null, and it doesnt even have to be a max def shield, maybe a +8 armor shield or something is ok....

Wow. Thanks Shinobi.
That build looks pretty solid. Although I prefer playing out the campaign, could anything like this be done for PvP.

GranDeWun
Use a focus instead of a shield; some of them can add almost 20 energy even without meeting requirements.
Weazzol
I use this in PVE, works pretty good, I haven't tried in in PVP because I like my dagger build better for that, but here it is:
12 Sword
10 Tactics
8 Crit
rest in Shadow
1: Drunken Blow, it's for +30 and adds a condition (the only bad thing is it knocks you down for a second, which is why you only want to use this at the beginning of battle, but good damage)
2: Sword & Moon, or the other new skill (I can't remember the names exactly, I'm going off memory from work)
3: Dragon Slash {E}
4: Thrill of Victory (make sure you have more health that target)
5: Shadow Refuge
6: Shields Up, or Watch Yourself
7: Add either another Sword skill or defensive skill of your choice
8: Rez sig, or if 12v12 another Crit or Shadow skill of your choice.
The real damage comes from the skills Drunken, Dragon, and Thrill. (Sorry if I have some of the names wrong, I'm going off memory).

To assume that you're always looking to tank when you choose a warrior class makes you a total window licker.
That being said, try gladiators' defense and the 2 available reposts in combination with a high critical strike score for a lot of dumb dead w/mos. Put points in tactics and go easy on the sword points, because your main damage will be ripostes.
