How does the ally faction system work ?

I would really like to know because our ally faces big losses in faction points.

We had about 400k ally faction points and were holding an outpost.

12 hours later when i came back online we had dropped to around 200k points.

We spend points and went up again to 314k.

9 hours later when i logged in again we had lost 52k and were down at 262k faction points.

At midnight when i went to sleep we still had 262k.

8,5 hours later i log in again and we were down to 198k - that`s a loss of another 64k points.

I know that you lose points over time but i can´t see any pattern here.
The losses seem ridiculously high and people have stopped spending their faction points for the ally because of that.

I really would like to figure out what`s going on.

I think they are trying to get people to constantly AvA (Alliance V Alliance) to earn faction points to spend on the outpost.

yeah...get ready to have no life an PvP all day to keep your town..

so nobody knows if it`s bugged or working like intended or has figured out a system that calculates how much ally faction points you lose a day ?

I don't think there is a fixed amount of faction loss, I may just be pulling this out of my ass , but maybe as other guilds gain faction, your guild looses it?

I heard its like a tax system, Arenanet deducts 10% or something everyday.

Something along the lines like that....

i`ve heard rumors about 10% too.

but as you can see we lost nearly 50% then 17% and after that another 25% of our total points.

and it`s not like you lose a bigger percentage if you have more points because the 25% loss was when we had less points then at the 17% loss.

it`s really strange.

That's weird. It's 10% every 24hour period per guild contribution.
Mathematically, whether you subtract 10% from each guild contribution and get the total,
or get the total and subtract the 10% from the total, you'll end up with the same amount.

Haven't noticed our alliance losing less than or more than 10%.
