Result of opening a Darkstone Chest

I am a chest farmer and nothing made me more happier than when A-net said they upped the rares and that they would now be better. Well it seems that it isnt' always true. Just take a look at the Shortbow I just got. I made it into a YTMND so it would be funnier. Enjoy.

Not sure rares drop more frequently, but if you didn't happen to notice purples can now be 14^50, have perfect or near perfect mods etc. So therefore rares would need to be better. I.e. no 12^50 rares.

Rares never drop from these frigging chests.
Phantom Chests have NEVER dropped a gold item while i've been in UW.
1 in 20 Darkstone drop golds
1 in 15 Shiverpeak drop golds

The drop rates on them are f*cking ridiculous.

I've opened 80 luxon chests and 50 of them have been gold

thats a 5/8 chance of getting a gold, if you dont like dont buy a key, but it has been greatly fixed and im quite happy. SO STOP COMPLAINING!

oh, just saw the darkstone bit, meh those chests are full of *****

well i havent opened any darkstone chests but i do know that i just got a sup. vig. out of a luxon chest like 2 days ago. it was cool. it was my first ever sup. vig. with any of my chars. and the char that got it is almost 1 year old.....he gets really bad drops. he has horrible luck.

I am not sure if the significantly improved golds have crossed over to Prophecies yet, but they really are better in the Luxon chests. (I haven't open any Kurzik ones as the merch won't sell me keys and I haven't bothered to try and get some, so unsure about those.)

HOwever, I can say this. In the past I have opened more Darkstone chests than I can count and I rarely even got golds there, so maybe that's a positive.

i got perfect fellblade and mursaat hammer from shiverpeak chests in one run..they buffed drops for these chests also

To the OP: You seem to misunderstand the word 'chance'. It means that you will sometimes get a better rare, and that now the 'sometimes' will be more often. Getting a not so good are out of a chest doesn't meant that they haven't done anything...

Your basically saying "OMG they sed they wud get better rares but mine is rubish... rant rant rant Anet sux". Well, maybe not as much as that, but did this really deserve it's own topic?

The update that increased the drop rate of rares was released before factions. Also the update was to increase the drop rate of rare items in general. Not increase the drop rate of rare items with perfect stats.

That site is the most stupid annoying thing I have ever been to online.

Ya, I went to go finish up the bonus on abbadon's mouth with one of my characters, and decided to buy 5 darkstone keys.

5 darkstone chests = all purple items

waste of money.

I've never gotten anything good from a darkstone. Only open them if you have the key from a monster drop or something.

250 shiverpeak chests = 60 goldens = 24% change of gold
250 keys = 150k

2 sup vigors
1 sup dmg abs
1 low req 15^50% summit axe
1 shield with +45/-2 while in stance
rest 55 are sucky

250 chests and 5 good drops = 2% to get something good

I didn't think the OP was complaining about anything. But when you see gold item where "lightning damage" is the only mod, you have to laugh a little bit

Won't be long before those chests are full of shit too.
