Two handed swords/axes? One handed blunt weapons?
K.Ichigo
I haven't thought this through exactly, but it'd add some variety. Two handed swords/axes could have slightly buffed damage. One handed blunt weapons could have significantly less damage but a higher attack rate.
This idea has probably been set forth before, but what are the cons to it?

why do you say that this idea has probrably been set fourth, and still make a thread about it...
for a start, look at this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=133809
its on par with what you're looking for, plus a little more.

In short, they wont work for balance issues.
(Search is down at the moment. And the google one isnt doing the topic justice. There are 1908932758943893247 threads on this...all filled with notsigned because of balance issues, and signed because some people hate balance and want to be better no matter what.)

There is a one handed blunt weapon.

Why would it upset balance?
What is the one handed blunt weapon for a warrior?

there's a new sword that does blunt damage. but you still use sword attacks with it. There's no weapon that allows you to do hammer attacks and weild a shield though, which is more on par with this thread and others
Age
I to would like to see this but it would be hard to implement in UI as if you look in your inventory. You might want to try useing it the way it is now to see how it works.

And it would upset balance because...for example.
A lot of hammer attacks cause knockdown. Using a hammer now can lead to keeping somone knocked down >80% of the time (in the combo). With the speed of a sword, that would be 100% of the time, and the combo could easily go on indefinantly once first charged. Good luck surviving that one. Also it would allow 1 warrior to completely disable (at least) 1 character...forever.

They could make a mace or morning star with the same attack speed as a two-handed hammer but only make it one handed and decrease the damage to something like 12-26. That way the trade off is use a shield, same speed of hammer attacks and lower power than a two-handed hammer.

a 2 handed axe using a eviscarate-executioners combo....gg

Wouldn't really work... not with all the skills anyway. Earth Shaker with a tiny mace? I don't think so.
Sounds too much like Diablo 2 (and probably 100s of others), i'd rather they give the Hammer a boost to its bonus'.
Swords/Axes, +30 health or +5/7 armour w/ +16 armour shield + 30/45/60 health and -2/3 damage.
Hammers, +30 health or +5/7 armour.
Really doesn't seem balanced imo, hammers hit for slightly more and lose out on about 20 armour benefit and plenty of health. They increased the Vampiric effect from 3 to 5 for hammers, so why not boost health or armour upgrades slightly?

i'd like too see something like this just because this game is becoming too balanced to plz the "causal" or "kiddie" gamers who only play weekends or whatever
this game needs some life to it or it will die
