As I don't have Factions yet, sadly, i've opted to make my Mo/Me build the best that I can possibly make it. Mostly being used in ToPK, and in random missions so that I can my "Protector of Tyria" title. Seems to be working well, though i'm sure it can work better, kinda disheartening after an incident today..... The group (from what I can tell) pulled two groups and one switched under while I was healing, killing me and the Orders Nec, and thus for the 3-4 minutes I stayed I was ridiculed beyond all belief =\ Personal error, timing problems, me not paying enough attention to their aggro patterns...any maybe, none maybe, at any rate it gives me an excuse to get more input, lol. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Gear: Full Ascetic's or Full Sacred 1.5k, 20/20 Heal Recharge / Cast Staff w/ +60 HP or +7 vs Phys +5 Armor. (two staves)

Attributes:
Healing Prayers - 12 + 1 + 3
Divine Favor - 11 + 1
Protection Prayers - 4 + 1
Inspiration Magic - 5

1. Word of Healing
2. Orison of Healing
3. Dwayna's Kiss
4. Healing Touch or Signet of Devotion
5. Purge Conditions
6. Inspired Hex
7. Power Drain
8. Rebirth

Skill Overview
1. Spike Heal, large quanitity in case their HP drops too quickly for me to heal.

2. All purpose heal for medium damage, w/o Enchants / Hexes

3. Nice mini spike heal, does alittle more than Orison when Hexed / Enchanted

4. Self heal mainly, i'm leaning more towards Signet though.

5. Purge I find to be more effective than Mend Ailment w/ only 5 Prot.

6. Hex removal w/ energy management.

7. Denial w/ forms of energy management in it, worked out well as I have no 7th in mind.

8. Res that allows me to kite if necessary, works out well unless I need to res in the middle of a battle, which doesn't happen often.

never really liked the idea of putting into protection prayers when using a healing build but this does seem like a decent build. However, I still prefer boon healing when I go out as a healer monk. With boon healing, you don't have to heal as much and it has a lot of healing power. Slap on energy drain and inspired hex and its good to go. You can probably find my boon heal build around the monk section.

Purge is fine where it is thats usually the skill I run with along with either mend aliment, other than that its nearly the same build I run with Signet of Devotion is always a must for me because I a great healing skill and costs no energy!

After playing around with it some i've decided to further test this change:

1. Word of Healing
2. Orison of Healing
3. Dwayna's Kiss
4. Healing Touch
5. Energy Tap
6. Purge Conditions
7. Inspired Hex
8. Rebirth

Healing Prayers - 12 + 3 + 1
Divine Favor - 10 + 1
Inspiration Magic - 8

Tap allows me nice management in a pinch, i'm thinking of perhaps taking out WoH for Mantra of Recall...though I don't think it would benefit me enough to bother.

Word of healing is energy management. Sometimes you cant prevent health bars dropping below 50% and when you do this is highly efficient.

I set off with this idea in mind: effective healing often requires the use of multiple heals, or high energy heals, meaning that most Monks require some sort of energy management. When your in a bind though and you must call for BR or the like, then your usually a bit rushed for all your actions, and any delay either way can mean life or death, literally. So I thought i'd try my hand at Boon healing (as suggested above) After alittle looking around, skill searching, and much thought I came up with something like this:

Healing Prayers - 12 + 3 + 1
Divine Favor - 11 + 1
Blood Magic - 8

1. Offering of Blood - IMO one of if not the most stable form of self energy management. Allowing for me to self sufficiently help my energy up, and cast continuously when needed.

2. Orison of Healing - Quick all purpose heal, for something along the lines of 160ish for 7 energy.

3. Dwayna's Kiss - Effective heal, especially when allies have enchantments or hexes on them.

4. Signet of Devotion - Self heal, or all purpose free top off heal.

5. Healing Seed - Nice for if aggro breaks, or if a party member is taking the blunt of the enemies attacks.

6. Divine Boon - The backbone of the build, allowing for more effective heals for little more energy.

7. Remove Hex - I find hex removal to be much more essential than most condition removal, blind on your warrior causes your party to deal less damage, whereas Rust on a Prot monk causes you to die.

8. Rebirth - Fairly self explanatory, nice all purpose res.

The idea here being most effective healing, with the least risk of over healing, with the best energy management possible.

This quote got me to thinking though:

'Word of Healing is energy management."

Which is 100% correct as far as i'm concerned, but in the context of this build does it still hold true over the massive energy management of OoB? This I will most likely test myself, if I find myself needing a spike. If so Remove Hex will be dropped in favor of Inspired Hex, for alittle more management if needed. I'm looking for thoughts on this, as i'm in the process of capturing OoB as we speak. Though I doubt this is anywhere near original, I did not find a build that I felt was similar enough to constitute not posting this here, for your opinions and critiques. Thanks, ^_^

It looks good so far but I wouldn't use rebirth as it consumes most of your energy.I would use restorelife and in a more difficult mission I put in a res signet and use heal party as well.It is really not the Monk's jop to res in PvE just like PvP.I wish more would know this and quit whinning for a res. when some one can use their signet on them.

It is not used for in battle ressurecting. But lets say your whole party but you dies almost in the middle of a group of creatures. How do you ressuecte them without haveing them killed again? You use rebirth so they ressurected out of range of the groups aggro circle. that way they don't see your ressuerected party member.

Lets say you bring restore life. You stand there and ask "now what?" there would be nothing you could do with out condemning your self to death. All people with monk secondaries should use rebirth as a PvP ressurection skill.

How ever, never in PvP. In PvP I use 2 ressuerection skills. Restore life or Ressuection Chant, and Ressurection sig to quickly ressuerect a fallen party member.

Thanks for the input guys, hopefully more people with monk secondaries will get the idea and bring some sort of res along aswell. Its annoying to hear someone belly ache about being spiked, asking for a res when they know good and well doing so would kill the rest of the party, lol.

Do you guys think that with essentially only 3 straight forward heals this build would be effective enough? I think it should, as the heals are powerful enough to heal a good bit of health, the only problem may be if 3 or more people were injured and needed healing quickly...though most other builds would also have issues there aswell.

I've never had an energy problem with a word of healing build, even if it's a mix of prot/heal, that spell is all you need to manage your energy while healing.

Yesterday I was playing a bonder in FoW, and the other monk was a heal monk. He had a protection prayers elite rather than WoH, and his method of healing was to spam healing breeze on everyone (10 energy for ~180 health - only good for countering health degen), and every now and again use heal party (15 energy for ~80 health for everyone). Every battle he ran out of energy, and because he had no energy for healing breeze or heal party, lots of people would die.

As the bonder (in a party that couldn't control aggro), I had 6 or 7 energy degen most battles, and was having to use reversal of fortune all the time because the healer wasn't doing his job. Yet he was the one asking for blood ritual all the time - not me, even though I needed it more for recasting all the bonds on EVERYONE. He also eventually managed to get the highest DP out of anyone, because without enough energy, he couldn't afford his protection spell to save himself. He then said he had the highest DP because he was a "good monk". He obviously didn't notice that he never had energy, always died, and it was the poor bonder trying to keep everyone alive with only reversal of fortune and mend condition.

I can understand people having problems keeping assassins alive if this is how they play monks. When I'm not playing my monk I'm usually looking at the enemies so I don't see what the monk is doing, but this time I couldn't understand how he would ask for blood ritual 10 seconds into a battle so I looked at what spells he was using.

Anyway, just a story that happened to me. Good luck with your build, I didn't look at it, but so long as you are healing people and managing your energy I'm sure it's fine.

To conserve my energy I use the following skills...

Offering of Blood

Word of Healing

Divine, Arcane echo, Word of Healing(Best of all possibly

Energy Drain

Mantra of Recall

(Also haveing a battery necro at the side to give you energy)

Also I do sometimes run out of energy in a WoH build. This only happens really intense areas however.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Helping guildies with missions like Thirsty River and getting randoms in the party who use ritualist in a way i'm almost 100% certian they were never intended for. I mean come on, most of the time someone who spams Healing Breeze, isn't the most intelligent person. Plus you've gotta love those Assassins who never got the "your not a tank" memo =P

Thanks for the list of spells you find useful for energy management, Brother Guilburt I do have one question on the subject though:

"Divine, Arcane echo, Word of Healing(Best of all possibly"

Do you mean Boon into Echo into WoH? If so i'm not 100% on how thats really a good strategy of energy management. Lots of healing being done, though at the expense of 5e + 15e + 7e (and possibly +7e, if I understand echo correctly) though i'm not 100% on that. Battery Necros are good and all, but honestly I prefer not to rely on one at any given moment, alot of bad experiences with those not paying attention. This of course isn't pertaining to all of the Batteries or anything, not trying to bash, lol.

It seems they don't think that they should have to keep track of what is going on with the rest of the group though.

It looks like you have a good skill set going to me. About what I normally have when I am set up for full healing. I always have heal party rather than healing seed though. Not often used, but when it is needed, it is REALLY needed, lol!
