New Idea: Trader
phreek
I dont really mean that but if they would make the gold allowance on each character bigger then great.
What I mean was, instead of having to run to the storage 3, 4, 5 times, whatever. Why cant the money just come directly from storage? or there be a button to say debit my storage or debit me. Know what i mean?

That would ruin the whole 'storage-principe'
You need to go there to get money, in every case.. So this makes no difference.
IM empty.. no idea's left

Attention: Would someone please get murk a energy drink! Hes out of ideas you see. He has been the most help on this thread, we can't have that!
GW can't let you hold so much on your player because then you could get to much gold. Who knows what would happen then! Although what if we could take money from storage, put it in trade, then take more money from storage, and put it into trade until we had all 300k we needed in there?

Yea, you would have to take money directly from storage.
What about a stall,
You talk to someone in one of the big towns and he requests a small fee, maby 100 gold. and he lets you setup a stall. When you setup your stall your name would turn green as if you were an NPC and your stall title would appear in the [] brackets. You would see a small inventory where you can set b/o prices. Someone can click on you and buy from you just as if you were a merchant, and when trading with a stall the option would be there to pull directly from your storage account.

The only problem with that is over crowding. If people were all trying to sell at the same time places would get way to over run. just a merchant who handles the sale for you, imho, would be a better option.

Let say you walk up to this npc Trader and talk to him. You are asked weither you want to buy or sell Sell: You drag your item into a box. Next to the box your character name appears. Then theres another box you type in your price. If you want sell it Ebay stile you place a minumum bid on it. If your item is purchased you get a whisper(from the trader) telling you it was purchased. Later you can go and collect it. When you talk to the trader to collect your money you also see the name of the person that purchased it. Buy: You walk up to the trader and click buy. A list of Professions comes up. You click on the profession that was the weapon/focus/sheild you want. Then comes a list of weapon and focus types(example: Sword). Then comes a list of weapons under that name being sold(example: Zealous Sword of Swordsmanship). If you find an item you want to buy you click on it. A picture of the item pops up. also comes the name of the person selling it, and the price. You are also shown that stats of the weapon. If you want to buy the item you can click a "buy" button. Your money atmatically is taken away and placed in a bank box for the seller to collect later(you are also allowed to trade items if they are requested to pay for it). The item is placed in your inventory atomatically. This would make selling much easier. You wouldn't have to stand in a city for 3 hours trying to sell one item. Also people wouldn't have to spam there advertisments over the chat all the time. You would have more time to play the game. Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? Brother Gilburt |
I came up with this idea too when someone posted about allowing people to set up shops a la Conquer Online to which I responded itd be a hell lot easier having a system as you (which I also) have proposed sanz the Auction part which Id prefer be left for an Auction House instead.
But an NPC Trader would solve a lot of current problems and cut the spam by a lot.

All comments help! Please make more posts giving further ideas for the trader. I have ran out myself. I try thinking of more.

Ok, a couple things then, sorry if it's repetative:
If we make the traders city-specific (what you put up for auction there can only be bought there), then we might as well just put them in the large cities.
Should be able to set a "Buy Now" price.
In addition to the search function, It would be good if it could be organized according to item type. Like if you want to buy amber, wood, and hides, you click on the 'crafting goods' tab, and you can see all the crafting materials up for auction. Then there would be a green, gold, purple, and blue section, and a collectible drops section.
This is because a search function won't help someone who want's something either that he doesn't know the name of or is window shopping. Say I go in saying, I want a nice green bow, 15>50, preferably with an armor mod, and whatever else is nice. Then I can go to the green items section (and if they're really organized, the bow subsection), and browse available bows.

Good idea's, some repetative.. but that's oké
I will try to make a summary, so we can put it in the beginning of this thread to make it clear to people who first view this.. Also try to make this sticky, don't know how it works, maybe this has a chance then..
Good thinking!

Yes, there only going to be in large cities. It might even be district specific. Should be able to set a "Buy Now" price. Well, here is my final version of the 'Auction House' thing..
First of all, for people who first read this thread it's about an extra trader in the larger cities to sell, buy or even price check items. This way you save time selling, and have more time actually playing the game.
Your tired of spamming your item in cities.. all want to see it, none wants to buy it?
Then here is our solution : Auction Houses.
There will be a new NPC in large cities, like storage / merchant.
Sell
You want to sell your Fellblade.
Go to the NPC in any large town and put it under Sell » Swords » Fellblades.
You give the Fellblade to the NPC who takes care of it for you until someone wants to buy it.
Enter a S/B and a possible C/O or B/O.
Buy
You want to buy a Fellblade.
Go to the NPC and look under the topic Buy » Swords » Fellblades.
You may arange the Fellblades in order of price, color or damage, etc.
Pick a Fellblade.
You can now view a 3D picture of it, incl. the stats and the S/B and a possible C/O or B/O.
C/O is 100k.
You deside to make a higher offer, so your offer will be 100k+5ecto.
Place it.
Now the one that is selling the Fellblade get's a Whisper from the NPC someone made an offer on his Fellblade.
If he accepts your offer he must go to the NPC and tell.
Else, auction goes on.
If you offer B/O for the Fellblade, the one that is selling the Fellblade get's an offer the blade is sold and he can come get his money / materials / whatever the trade was.
The NPC has the Fellblade so trade him for the B/O.
Trade done.
Price Check
Don't think I need to explain this anymore, it works the same as the rest..
PC Fellblade
I gues 100k » NPC auto-Whisper
Further rules
Auction on an item is 24 hours max.
Not sold, auction over pick up your Fellblade from the NPC or place it again.
If you want to trade for materials instead of gold, select a different B/O.
I think that's it, if I forgot something comments are welcome..
Must have forgotten something
Good luck.

Do you really need to have to go back to the auction trader to get your payment?
and also, if you sell something while you're logged out, you should get a message when you log back in on what you sold.
