why are sup absortions 10k now?

what happened that sup absortions dropped to 10k now!? and sup vigors are still 33k?? anyone know what happened to make prices drop so much so fast?

there was an update that made Sup Abs and Sup Vig more common... i'm guessing that had something to do with it

Not sure myself. I would guess that once Factions came out, people started cashing in their Sup Absorptions to get some money for their new characters.

Yeah I wondered that. I saw how cheap sup absorption was, so I thought maybe I'd finally be able to afford a sup vigor, only to find it's still ridiculously expensive

everybody wants and can use sup vigor but only warriors can use sup asorb and when they get one they dont need more for other non warrior toons

ANet could have at least warned people about this update that changed the super absorption rune drop rate. I am a business man in real life and I made a great ( at the time) business move by purchasing 4 super absorption runes before Factions came out. Think about it.....new armor means demand for runes to go up. ANet burned me again just like they did when they postponed the CE for what they said to be 2 months. So I purchased a regular copy only to get my CE two days after I used my regular key. Goes to show ANet doesn't really care much about the customers that support them the most.

prices go down when you keep selling the same crap over and over and over to the npc.... every1 read the stupid update and thought "hmmm sup absorbs are more common maybe i should sell mine before prices plummet" and when no1 was buying they then prolly just sold to npc.

Pretty good point but it still doesn't change the fact that you can get a super absorption rune to drop just as the same as any other easy to find rune.

I think this was long overdue. I'm glad I don't have to spend 60k to absorb an extra 1 dmg over Major. Not worth it at all.
Vigor, however, is used in absolutely ever prof.. I expect it to stay the same.

Actually, if you still have some sup absorbs, I'll buy one or two O.o
I saw a slight decline in price before factions went live.
I figured I'd wait with buying sup absorbs until the price was very very low.
My reasoning was this:
- there will be a lot of assassins and ritualists so the warrior runes will drop (all war runes dropped, not just the absorb)
- there will probably be some way to ensure that new guys won't have to play catch-up with the prophecies veterans so the absorb price might get altered or fixed
I was right and didn't buy any sup absorbs and I have saved myself at least 50k in gold O.o

Before the update, I played the game.. like 4 months
NO Superior Absorption.
After the update, in 1 week I got 2 Superior Absorption runes..
Sold the first one for 25k, second I got yesterday.. Only worth 10k, gues my own Warrior get's it

Yeah, it was 100k a few months ago, but then dropped to 80k, and sat on that for a long while. Since Factions, it has been steadily dropping, but dropped HEAPS since that update. I don't mind, means I can buy one

I'm sure the Rune farming run had alot to do with it. With Golds salvaging to golds now. I'm a big run farmer. My main income till I get off my but and gat my runner going.

Off-topic, if you add a Warrior Rune of Superior Absorption to 1 armor piece.. will the -3 damage only apply when you take a hit on that piece?

The absorption from the rune applies to all the armor pieces. You need only 1 to get full benefits from it.

They did mention that the rate of drops for superior absorbtion and vigor was going to increase. More runes equal lower prices. I had four superior absorbtions drop in two days.

i agree with fiery here gwp was out for a year and loads of people had warriors so the rune went up. but now factions is out people are moving on either have warrior already or just dont want one.

People who are complaining about investing in superior absorbtions are simply suffering the fault of their own bad judgement. Superior absorbtion and Superior vigor have been falling at about the same rate ~ 1-2k every week before factions. When factions comes out, how many warriors are going to be created? Not many, maybe enough to keep the price the same. But how many people are going to need vigors? Everyone. Thats why even with the increased drop rate, price went up 15k when factions came out. I made a good 200k buying superior vigors low a week before factions and selling them when the price came back peaked 3 days after factions came out. In a few weeks I'm predicting vigor to be around 15k after everyone gets there armor. I did have a guildie who lost 200k investing in superior absorbtion so I know you pain but you can't be mad at anet for your own investment decisions.

- 1 absorption rune works for ALL the armor pieces (think about it, if u had to put it on all the pieces, apart from having to spend 500k a few months ago, you would have not any room for vigor and weapon mastery which is a nonsense)
- 1 piece of knights armor gives you the absorption to the full armor; my war has a full gladiator set but the boots are knights.
The fact that sometimes you get different dmg has other causes, for example the mobs not always doing the same dmg to you...
It's not my opinion but something that a lot of more experienced players have tried and tried and tried until they all got to the same conclusion.

Before Factions came out, there were several posts about ways to convert gold into items to prepare for the new chapter. A lot of people talked about investing in ecto, black dyes and - yes - superior absorbs. I wonder if some of these people dumped the superior absorbs on the market - as they saw prices drop - and if that accelerated the price drop even more.
