....when your dreams
.......fall apart at the seams
The GWG reader's buzzword: Guru (duh)
It's a daunting process, clearing the Underworld. It takes an extremely long time; I'm not sure it can be done in less than 4 hours of constant fighting. 6 or 7 if you're taking breaks and chatting a lot along the way. I have never done it. I don't know many who have. Some of the quests are evil - they can make you punch your monitor or give up playing the game. To be three hours into it and slightly tired and someone makes a noobish mistake. ARGH! Besides the basic stuff like if you don't know what will happen and take the wrong quest at the wrong time, you are dead in an instant. (or your target gets it and you get kicked, same result.)
So UW masters, if you are not looking for smite runs or charming a spider, use "guru" in your LFG line. Let's see if we can create a way to get on PuG teams with at least intent of going the distance. 99% won't make it. It's a lot of work and failing means starting over.
If you are the team leader, even though they include "guru" in their LFG request don't build a team of misfits and lunatics if you can help it. I suggest giving entrance exams - if they whisper they want in, give them two UW related questions. If for instance you ask them "What does a Dream Rider look like and what happens if you kill one?" from their answer you can determine a lot. If you have a specific mission you keep failing, use that! "What attacks the Ice King? Do you have any ideas on keeping him alive?" Try to be only slightly elitist; not everyone knows every area. So try easier ones for those honest types that say they haven't been that far. Hey they read gwguru, they are already a step above! (maybe "Why are Vengeful Aataxes scary?" or "What class are [monster's name]).
Seems like a good idea so it probably won't work, then.
