Went in to FoW and UW for the first time today...

I hit some problems. First off:

I've read about every guide anyone has ever made on 55 solo monking UW, and 55 solo necroing UW/FoW and downloaded every single one of kcp's videos.

Personally, I find FoW(at least the first part) easier, but I keep hitting some snags.

In UW: Dealing with interupts, energy management, and everything else is a pain. I think this is why most people go dual...

In FoW: I had some problems on 2 parts: The elementalists and the mesmers.

For the elementalists, I couldn't sit still. I constantly was dancing around because fire storm was setting me on fire. Tips needed here

As for the mesmers, I never knew where there shatter was coming, so when was I supposed to cover my HB with VS for the second time? Is there a specific time I can wait? (I.E.- Renew breeze twice when it starts to blink and the shatter is almost recharged) Tips needed here

Hmm i'm not as good as kcp or Lych, but lemme give you a few advices.

When faces atxx in uw, try to keep only 2 out of 3/4 attaking you the kill will be as fast and the energy as goud. salvage slash (interrupt) has a 20 sec recharge so even if you're interrupted twice you shall have time to cast without any problem.

For fow, avoid the first fire storm, try to get the mesmer & the elementalist close to each others. Dont dance, face, try to have your IP always set on the warrior and always something over your ps to avoid the shatering. Even if not really needed i would recommend you casting ps then hb then vigourous spirit and keep vigourous spirit other the two others as much as you can.
Last advice, when fighting the small group with monks & a mesmer i prefer to kill monks before azs they sometime rez the mesmer...

Well i guess kcp or Lych will help you more...

Hope this will help, keep in mind that you gonna have to get use to these 2 farmings, took me quite a few tries but works great now
Plus the uw solo is as fast as duo ( with a shy monk) once u get used.

standing in the firestorm actually helps your energy tremendously... its the incendiary bonds that sets you on fire

Overexcitement kills energy management.

What do I mean by overexcitement?

Needlessly spamming spells when you shouldnt be.

Running out of firestorms because they normally would kill your non 55hp character.

Running away because you are burning, meanwhile the shadow warrior with insidous parasite is not hitting you to give you life because he is too busy chasing you while you run around on fire.

Firestorm is good, 2 firestorms are even better, 3 firestorms at once you need to be cautious, and 4 firestorms you need to be dodging them. Toss incendiary bonds into the mix with 2 or more eles and a I.P. hexed warrior in the middle of a heal sig while hellfire rains down from above and that nasty burning sensation kicks in =gg your dead, nothing you can do really. It happens at times.

Only one area where you can catch more then 2 firestorms at once and that is to the right of rastigan at the start. There are 4 ele's there. Taking all 4 ele's with the mesmer, beast, and shadow warrior at the same time should only be attempted once you feel comfortable. I regularly take them all at once, in the video's I don't so people don't get too far ahead of themselves, die, and blow me up with pm's in game asking why they cant do it.

About the mesmers.....sorry I've stated over and over to find out the recharge on shatter enchant and prepare for it. Search my posts here at gwg. It's so simple once you figure it out you will probably cry, or beat your head against your keyboard. Mesmers are sissies, and you should treat them that way.
