Beat Dopelganger

There are other ways to kill Dopelganger particularly the Awaken the Blood skill + sacrifice spell. But these is a new way just in case you do not have the ATB spell. im not sure if there are similar post, im too lazy to search, but if there are... my sincere apologies to the authors.

i already tried these build 3 times succesfully. heres how it works.

you basically need 3 spells. but your main spell damage will be backfire.

Distribute your skill points to
1. Domination = max
2. Curses = leftover

Skills You need
1. backfire
2. Emphaty
3. Spiteful spirit

Just fill the other skill slots that are fast cast (pref with less than 1 sec cast time) with useless kill preferably those that are offensive spells(i chose offensive blood attributes)

Strategy
1. approach doppelganger close enough to malee range.
2. cast Backfire first then Emphaty then spiteful spirit. Your goal is to make self inflicting damage to him while he is under the Backfire spell.

The Emphaty and Spitefull Spirit are just in case that he attacks with malee you also deals damage to him.

With 12 Domination, Backfire will be dealing 119 damage per spell cast. If you chose spells that are cast less than 1 sec, you will deal damage faster than you can say bruguduybrugudungstungstuy.

With 11 curses, you will be dealing 50+ damage just in case he attempts to attack you with malee.

It will only take Dopelganger to cast 4 spells to kill himself.

I did not even bother attacking him with malee. Poor sucker killed himself.

laff with that u have to take dmg, ive found a way u can do ti at lvl 8 if u have sup curses on... just throw ss on him and hide behind a wall, he will keep attempting to attack and kill himself.. very entertaining... it may take a few times, cas one of my friends did the same and he kept running in for 2 or 3 matches, then it worked

Somehow i managed to kill my dopple with necro / Rt by just using Vamp gaze / Vamp Bite / wallows bite and life syphon. But damn was it close and took me three tries to kill him.

@Tangg Yes indeed this method has been mentioned.

In addition, you can utilize illusion of weakness to help expedite the process and distortion (combined with kiting) to help lesson dmg taken.

I'm not sure if he still does but he used to spam blood is power till he would die if that was the only skill you carried.

Also if you back up you can dodge his arrows easily and only stop to recast when he does thats how i beat him with a lvl 8 mesmer using only empathy and pre armor.

If you have mes secondary, beating doppy is insanely easy...

max blood and domination

-put as many blood sac enchanments as you can into first 4 slots slots
-also take distortion, shatter enchantment, arcane echo, and empathy

if the sacing hasn't killed it...
use arcane echo to strip enchantments twice...
if it isn't dead by then cast empathy on doppy, when it attacks uses distortion or just dodge

or just kill him by casting Efeeble + Insidious Parasite on him.
Don't attack yourself and don't try to dodge his attacks :P
have fun!

I beat him with N/W, Frenzy and Blood Renewal. Max Sword/Axe Mastery and just enough Tactics to use a shield. Just go hit him.

Just fill your slots with health draining usless skills. You dont even have to do anything but shoot him with you wand

or if you have the rare combination or a necromancer/warrior put all your stats on hammer mastery take no skills and you'll stomp him in under 50 seconds ^_^

no, there is an easier way to beat doppleganger
Awaken the Blood Blood Ritual 17% Blood is Power 33% {E} or Offering of Blood 20% Defile Flesh 20% Enfeebling Blood 10%

Signet of Agony 10% (+ bleeding) Backfire rez signet

Trust me, this is a much better build. The AI is dumb enough to sacrifice itself to death. And when you add backfire into the mix, it'll cast and hurt itself. I find that most players can use this N/Me build to beat doppleganger in 3 attempts or less. I've wagered money against it and never lost a bet yet.

4) Yes sacrificing spells works great, just don't use Blood Renwal:
Use the following:
Dark Fury
Awaken The Blood
Demonic Flesh
Defile Flesh
Enfeebling Blood
Blood Of The Master (doesn't need to have undead to work)
Illusionary Weakness
Rez Sig

always forget dark fury.

As fro the BiP and BR... I just bring them anyway. Whether it'll use them or not is up to it.

Although I got a drok run, Offering of blood is great against dopple.

As for Dark Fury, Where do you get that? I didn't see it until Ember Light (I may have ignored it)

Cultists Fervor {e} + Dark Fury + Order of Pain + some 1 second casts
makes him sacrifice 1651% his health ^^ (well, almost)

Yea, but if you go N/Me, Backfire @ 12 kills faster
The AI will not only sacfrice to death, but also be punished for spells that require sacrifices.

I strongly recommend an N/Me build instead of N/Mo.

I don't know whats with people. But it's not hard to defeat Doppleganger.
Well atleast it's not hard for me, i never had a problem
