I am on the Kurzick side, and there is a particularly nifty Ranger elite for trappers, and I am not sure if I will be able to get the access to it, if I can't get primary quests to get into towns that would have gates on them.
Is there a way to get through the towns while on the Kurzick side?
I'm Kurzick/Luxon can I get towns and missions on Luxon/Kurzick side?

Yes. Near as I can figure, the only downside is some NPC's like merchants won't talk to you, so you have to map back to your "own" side to find one. Not a big deal.

The npcs will talk to you if you have more faction points currently on that char for that said merchant's faction. This is regardless of your allegiance or your guild allegiance.

First, except for the Assassin Construct only being on the Luxon side and the Ritualist Construct only being on the Kurzick side, all Elites should be available on both sides. It may be easier (i.e. closer to an outpost) to capture an Elite on a certain side, but it's still available regardless of which side you are on.
You can go anywhere up to the gates of the first faction-specific mission (Eternal Grove and Gyala Hatchery) regardless of your alignment. In order to enter Eternal Grove or Gyala Hatchery, you must do the Befriending quest for that area first, which requires you to get 10,000 faction for that side. After you've done that quest, you can get the primary quest to enter the next mission, which will allow you to go anywhere in that area regardless of your alignment.
