No chest for you!

So I’m futzing around the Dunes of Despair mission and I come across this chest.
The problem is I have no earthly idea how to get to it.
I ran around the Dunes area quite a bit and was unable to ever actually access the location that it was placed. It was just over the dunes that run along the west side in the northern tip where all the wind riders are at the start of the mission. Now mind you, it isn’t the contents of the chest that I care about, but I’d sure like to have the option of opening it. Drove me a bit nuts trying to get to it. I never managed to. Anyone else encountered this kind of situation of seeing an item in an area that isn’t explorable/accessible? Is Anet taunting me for their own pleasure or did I overlook the proper pathway?
Any ideas?

I think Anet are just taking the piss. There was a chest in FoW that seemed to be very far underneath some scenery, we could reach it though anyway by running through the scenery

I found a chest inside a tree in the Echovald Forest. Gg Anet.

I saw one on one of the unaccessable boats in the Ice Caves of Sorrow, those jerks!

and theres also that chest the turtle ate up in Kryta

In Nahpui Quarter, there's a place where the chest spawns on the bottom of the map. It's near the ele boss.
