I have made an assassin and tuned him in pretty well now i'm lookinf for information on ritualists. Whats the best way to go.... Healer, protector,.... or spiker? How is energy managment and does chaneling work like the spell the mesmer uses? Please post your info .

Just give it a go and see what happens . Been playing Rt in PVE since Factions release and I find it to be very versatile. You can be a decent healer, protector or nuker.... and I'm sure other players have discovered other uses. As far as the Channeling line - many of the skills there are focused on damage (lightning damage mostly). Some of it is conditional and depends on the presence and/or proximity of Spirits, but it is not a "punishing" type of line like the Mesmer's Domination or Illusion lines. As far as energy management, it's pretty decent even without using skills from a secondary. There are specific energy management spells (e.g. Mighty Was Vorizun or Boon of Creation which you can get early on) but also many of the spells (esp. Spirits) take a little while to cast so by the time you get them out your energy is back up.

Haven't done PVP with a Rt yet but it looks very promising...

Basically you have a few choices. Communing, Rest and Channeling

Comm -> deals mostly with spirits
Resto -> Healing + spirits
Channel -> Lightning/nuke dmg

All 3 are surprisingly really really good.... Personally I play Resto because groups 9 times out of 10 needs healers. Ele's are common as are W and A's so most times this is what I use. Even in PVP its quite good.

I do find Channelling very fun though. And the spirits that Ritualists has at their disposal while not overpowered by any means are quite nice to have around. Shelter, Union, Pain, all of these are very good choices for a Rt starting out to play with.

When it comes to energy mgmt thats the thing that surprises me most. I carry NO energy management skills. Like seriously nothing.... but as Woof said, if you have a few spirits in your bar you get a ton of energy back just by casting a spirit. Which I know sort of doesn't make much sense but in practice its actually how it goes. It may take you 3-5 seconds to cast a spirit, and in that time you'll get back a good chunk of energy. Spirits almost cast "free" meaning by the time its laid down you already have the energy you spent on it back.

The biggest problem with spirits is its rechange time. most are 60 seconds, some are 45. The good thing is if you go spirit heavy you can use things like Ritual Lord or Soul Twisting and have the recharges reduced. I dont bother because I only have 2 spirits on my bar atm. Even then, one is 45 sec recharge and the other is 60... and I really don't find Im waiting around trying to cast them. I would prefer them to be faster for sure but for what my ritualist does its really fine....

So you have tons of choices (in my opinion thats why they are so good)... try them out and see what you like. Dont be too fast to give up. It takes a lot of time and patience to be good at ritualists... but imo they are worth it in the end.

i have a rit/nec and at first i hated him. i had a hard time finding the right combo of skills and just didnt know how to play him.

after a while i got the hang of things and now i mostly focus on communing. as i get more skills i will try some of the other lines.

I have ran a few tests. Seem the protection/healin spirits take dmg easy. I tested way to heal Spirits and its very limited however i found blood wells to heal then extremely well. is it possible to cut recharge times on Spirits to 25-30 seconds? to utilize casting in the wells.

Other suggestions to healing the spirits.

ATM RT/N or RT/R are what i'm looking as possible builds.
