anet and farmers
Frost_
why does anet nerf nearly all farming builds that we come up with, reduce drops for re-entering an area, just take out things that drop good or are farmable, and pretty much make it as hard as possible for farmers to farm gold but give people who farm faction an elite mission to get rich off of? why not give you players who actually have some skill in hoh some elite mission instead of the farmers you nerfed countless times?

Because the game is supposed to be "team-based" so tehy want you going on quests/missions to find gold/items and not spend hours on end farming gold from the poor melee creatures.

because they encourage group farming, not solo farming.

98% of the time skill adjustments are made to balance them in PvP, not for PvE. Drop fatigue has always been a part of the game since day one.

Ok, I think a lot of people of people got confused because GW was being advertised as not requiring grind, 'skill over time played' etc. etc. What they really meant was 'not' those things |
Just because your skill might not get any better over time doesn't mean that's true for eveyone else.

Oh, I think the faction farming is way beyond the 10k required to continue the storyline. Check out the faction required to own Cavalon - it's about 5 million now.

Here's a somewhat related thought.
I'm thinking Anet is starting to see that server capacity is going to become an issue. So here's what they are doing to decrease server load:
-nerf solo farming.
-griffons nerfed
-ettins not nerfed......yet
-did I read that the -50 hp focus no longer is a quest reward?
-decrease the viability of 5 man farm teams
-nerf book trick and keg/gear farming in SF
-make henches suck
-you need to go with fuller groups instead
the net effect of all this is that when you bunch people together into teams, there are less unique games going on in the Anet servers. If you have a ton of people solo/dual farming, there are many more unique games going on.
am I off here or could this be some rationale with how things are going?
