Charm a bear in pre-searing

Sooooo,

I've read in a lot of topics/foruns/guides, and a lot of flame with "Its no more possible to charm a pre-searing bear" or "Yes, my friend got one"...

So... I've tryed, but fail all the time, cant figure out an way to charm that bear...

Ok... When leaving pre-searing, at arena... One of my partner has the bear :O

The answer for my question by him was:

"With a lot of help"

So, here is the question again, how can be charmed a pre-searing bear?

U need 2 do it with 2 people
1 will attack the bear (or the bear will attack him)
The other one can then charm the bear (because he isn't watching)

Yes. You have to have a second person to interupt charm breaker.

What i most read on Forums was:

Yes, the ONLY way to do it is if someone interrupts the bear's skill, which interrupts your Charm Animal skill if he is allowed to use it. I havent ever done this, but know lots of people who have. I dont even know if there are enough, or any, interrupts in pre-sear. Maybe the mesmer gets one in pre? idk!

Haven't seen the right answer yet. It's hard but still possible, here's how to do it:

- Get someone to help you.
- Go outside (I recommend Foible's Fair, that's where most bears are).
- Let the other player get the aggro of the bear.
- Move into the bear's aggro circle.
- Let the other player run away from you, and cast Charm Animal when the bear gets out of your aggro circle, the other player should still be running.

When the other player moves away, the bear gets too far away for Break Charm to take effect, but your Charm Animal will still continue. The bear will continue to cast Break Charm, but it'll simply fail. It might take long, but don't give up, it's possible, this is how I got mine, after 10 minutes trying

Maxiemonster's got it right. The interrupt method no longer works but the double team with one person running away does work but it can take time.

A friend and I spent an hour doing it to get both of us bears (Mesmer/Ranger and Ranger/Necro). We did it in that area where there are those drunk idiots out in the woods. There's a high hill looking down on them that you can get to the top of via Ft. Rannik. From there one of us would stand on the very top, just in Charm range and the other would go down a path toward the drunks. There are always 2 bears there. We'd kill one, kill any wolves and spiders around the area, just to make the charming a bit less fussy, then the Charmer would be up top directing the other, looking down on them from above. The first one took maybe 10 minutes to do, the second one took longer.

But going into the PVP to cross over to the searing, it was way cool having 2 bears on our side

Erm...If your in PreSear why are there 4 Characters there? Cause the most you can have in PreSear are 2 to a party.

i dont get y u cant just charm the bear like normal?

At the last part of pre-searing you get four people in your party.

Like Maxie said, bears have a skill called "Break Charm" that breaks the "Charm Animal" skill preventing you from charming it. I think they gave them the skill because there were too many bears and bears are godless, killing machines that are always on notice or a threat to our freedom.

I think you might be able to charm one by bodyblocking. Find a narrow bit of terrain and get a friend toblock the bear's path.
