Well, i started a Warrior and now i need some help in determining which Stat armor to get.

This warrior is mainly going to be for PvE, and anything to do with PvE, no PvP intention.
Is it still a good idea to get at least 1 armor that has damage reduction?
what are your thoughts on the 100 def armor that requires high strengh?
i am so lost for a choice ... what did all you guys choose and why?

One piece of reduction is still the best way to go.

The sentinal armour restricts the build too much, since you have to play with 13 strength. So unless you're using a superior strength, you'll have to play with almost half your attribute points wasted to max it to 12 with a minor rune for 13.

If you're using stances, which I would think almost every warrior does, Legionnaires is a statisically fine choice for defense. If you have an energy dependant build, gladiator's has always been best. Personally, if I wasn't broke at the moment, I'd craft a new set of legionnaires for PvE since I'm constantly in stance.

hmm... just a question but didnt someone in the forum mention something about needing to buy the entire set to get the needed armor stat?

If so.. i would need to buy the netire -2 armor reduction stat if i wanted that..

is this true?

Plus what is the advantage of the 100 armor thing over the 80 armor which has the -2 reduction in damage?

is this true? No, you never need a full set of armor to get a bonus. For the Knight's/Ascalon damage reduction bonus and the Mesmer +15 while casting, you only need one piece. For other armors, the bonuses are locational, which means they only apply when that part of the body gets hit.

err. actually that would be true for the old armors... What i wanted to know is if we will need the full armor sets if we are to buy the facitons armors.

Appendix B – Local & Global Effects

In Prophecies, some armors have global effects – by wearing one piece of said armor, its conditional effect would cover your entire body, not only the part the armor is covering. Thanks to Aigred from GWG, it has been confirmed that no new armor set of Factions has such effect – if you want one stat to cover your entire body, you will need all pieces with the same stat.

Thats where i got it.

Clearly i would think this would be a rather difficult thing to err.... decide upon

You have to wear the armor for the specific body part you want the bonus on, true, but that doesn't mean you have to wear the whole set. Wearing a full set of Dreadnaught's, Knight's, or Sentinel's is dumb. The optimal setup is a weapon mastery helm, Knight's Boots, Stoneskin Gauntlets if you need them, and the rest your choice of armor, typically Gladiator.
