I have looked at this elite mission stuff from both ends and I relieze there are 2 sides to the issue.
On one side you see that a lot of the GW population can't get to eilte mission and thier not too happyl.
On the other if we let EVERYONE in on elite missions what will be the point of alliance standing faction.
So I propose something in the middle.
Instead of Guilds constantly fighting over the top town or something we should put set prices for towns and if you meet the amount you get access to the town. At the same town other alliances can buy access to the town too.
So instead of buying the town you buy access to it and you own the town along with the other guilds that also had the set amount.
The cost of maintaining and getting access to the town should be pretty high but it shouldn't be super hard to get as it is now. This would allow moderate guilds to gain access to an elite mission for a while yet still provide a sense that elite missions are hard to get.
What do you guys think?
Change to how towns and elite missions are captured

Wrath Of Dragons
it is a good halfway point...might make being in an elite mission more realistic for some of us.

This gives the average player an attainable goal to go after when tyring for a city. I could farm faction all day long and never push my alliance up to 5 million or whatever.

to add to the post, maybe still allow the townt to be bought, and those who controll the town get a special cape/armor symbol or something? something ovbious yet not ..... excluding the rest of the population

I say make it a very high amount, but at least make it attainable(without spending 8 hours a day farming) for players who want to access such areas.

mhh might work 10.000 faction for an access of 3-4 hour in elite mission

Currently House zu Heltzer changers hands every few days, and I know that XoO isn't doing much serious faction farming yet as we are still progressing through the game. The ladder squad, who are focused on getting as high a GvG rank as possible, are still putting in faction ammount on par with the rest of us. When we lost HzH today, no-one seemed to care once they confirmed it (that will probably change once we bore of the rest of factions). And XoO is letting non-members into it at no charge
Cavalon has an alliance thats way ahead of everyone else, but I've heard that all they do is grind out faction. I've also heard rumors that they are starting to crack, so I wont be suprised when they break up as they start getting sick of the constant grind farming faction.
I'm going to be staying with my wait and see approach for a month at least, probably two.

Actually it be easier if they just reset the Towns every Month. And any Guild who controlled a Town this month (only one per Guild at any given time) get drained of their Faction for a very quantitious fee. This will allow Guilds who didnt have access to the Town a chance since their Faction remains, as long as they had no control of a Town this month.
Adding a faction Degenerative Upkeep that worsens as day passess by can also offset the continous farming.

So all the work my alliance did to gain HzH would be pointless? Nice way to make everyone happy. Especially the people who work for their rewards. (considering my guild [not alliance] maybe gets 1 party together and FF for maybe an hour...I dont think it would be hard for another alliance to farm all day and take it from us)

GWonline has a poll running about who has had access to the elite missions yet, and who hasn't. 13% of the respondants on the poll have had access to the elite mission, and its only been 2 weeks since factions was released. That was much higher that I expected.
Give it a month or two, then re-run the poll. Only then will we be able to see if the current system is actually broken.
