How to get tanned hide and steel?

Prior to this beta weekend (4/15) I recall items like tanned hide and steel being available from the Crafter in Yaks Bend. They are no longer on the crafter's list. Can anyone who has knowledge of where they are for this beta weekend point me to the right place? I've only progressed to Yaks Bend so far.
