Are the drops with henchmen worse than those with human players? Or is there no difference?

No difference.

For example, I've gotten most of my green drops with henchmen, including some of the very popular necro ones.

How about fewer henchmen, or even human players? Do I increase my chances for good drops if I bring 3 henchmen, rather than 6? Also, does the level of the other players in the group make a difference, or is it mostly where you are in the game?

I'm asking these questions because I never get good drops, and I'm trying to figure out how I can increase my chances.

It works like this; with five henchman you have a 1/6 chance of getting the dropped item. With three henchman you have a 1/4 chance of getting the dropped item. Levels do not matter. I also think you don't have to kill the monster to get the drop. I've killed things before by my self and someone in the group, a screen over, gets the drop. As long as you stay in the general area you should be fine (after all, how would healing monks get drops?).

Henchies will take a shar of the drops, gold, and xp just like real players. But levels, and number of henchies and what not doesn't affect the quality of drops.

I think drops are actually better with henchies personally. The only reason it looks like less/worse stuff drops is because you dont get to see the henchies drops.

I found two Gold Daggers with henchies. One pair I sold for 4.5k.

Yes. The fewer characters (of any kind), the more drops per character. That's why people farm solo, for example.
