Maybe Champion, but that's about it. Drunk is naturally well respected though. If anyone gets incorrigable ale hound, I might hump their leg when I see them.

I don't understand why people think skill hunter is respectful. You take so much time to redo and redo all missions for the skills that you never use, what is the point of doing this? You only need about 20 elite skills thats all you need.

Drunkard show wealth, it is the most extravagant title. And I don't show respect to drunkard becasue it only costs 200k, I only respect incorrigable ale hound who is willing to spend 2M for the title.

Cartohrapher shows you are a good runner and a careful person

There are many ways to achieve kind of big deal, but I would never include skill hunter

One of the problems with the Cartographer titles is that they are by character, not account. I was shocked to see how low some of my exploration percentages were, since I've explored every part of Tyria. Then I realized that I had spread it out across 4 characters. Am I going to go back to some of the more obscure areas just so one char can have the title? Probably not...

Noone can get the highest skill hunter title for it to count towards the big deal title anyway.

Assassin's Promise elite is nowhere to be found.

I'd respect Gladiator titles if they weren't farmable.

Champion and some of the higher PvP ranks impress me, but the latter less and less due to the farming... but whatever.

PvE-wise, the 90%+ explorer titles, protector titles, and that's pretty much it. Incorrigible Ale Hound for the persistence, although I'd hate to be you...

The winner, obviously, Kind of a big deal. <- takes a while

How many elite skills do you have to cap before a title shows up?

I have been capping skills for a awhile and I am up to 40 Elites captured. This takes a lot of time when your an ele and you use henchs in the explorable areas and finding good PUG's in missions.

I would have to say that trying to cap in Tyria seems a heck of a lot harder that capping in Cantha. Dunno why, but Cantha seems to be easier. I spent hours and many deaths yesterday trying to cap elites in Frozen Forest. Some may say this is an easy area, but I was getting some serious mobs. One group of Summits had 5 Dolyak Masters that were healing every bit of damage I was dishing out. Took me forever to lure monsters away from group. I had a much easier time capping on Perdition Rock than I do in Southern Shiverpeaks.

Getting this title is very costly and time consuming but I have the armor I want on my characters and don't feel the need to blow the money on another 15k set so I enjoy spending my plat working on this title.

I'll prefer to ignore titles. They should be for personal benefit and not necessarily displayed. People were wildly mad at rank becoming a requirement to get into PvP groups, and then they added titles to PvE. Anyone but obsessive players need not apply, even if they're a very skilled casual player.

You need 90 for the first title, 135 for next, and 180 for the top title in that area.

As for which individual title I respect more - dunno. They're all pretty tough to get. I'm working on the Cartographer title now, and I'll be hanged if I can find that last 2.3 % that I need for the Grandmaster title. It's all tiny spots scattered around the map . Hope I don't need the arena combat areas.

While it's odd to say I respect any title (I don't), incorrigable ale hound would be the one I would compliment someone on. That's just hilarious and one I want on my War/Mes.

The breakpoints for the elite title are 90, 135 and 180.

And yeah, capping in Tyria is a mess - random boss spawns out in the middle of nowhere, compared to fixed spawns right outside outposts in Cantha.

It's a rare title compared to Protector or Explorer so I say it's definitely worth the time and money.

- Drunkard: Shows nothing but the willingness to waste lots of money while letting your char idle for hours. Shows the ability to be afk a lot. Well, it's at least a fun title
No. You cannot drink 500 ales and go afk for hours. That's not how it works. You gotta drink one more ale every min. I do have this title, but don't think I've spent hours drunk in some outpost. I used the ales while exploring Cantha. I drunk in an outpost only one time: when I ran out of ale 5 mins before I get this title.

My experience shows it's harder to drink in a town than while exploring with henchies. It's pretty easy to keep an eye on his title track while exploring to drink one more ale every min, but in town your attention is caught by the chat box, and you often forget to drink the ale needed.

Yes, once they implemented titles is when they started counting ID's and chest openings for these two titles.

Err... and fame is not easy with a good group?

C'mon one guy with seven players from a top HA teams could probably go along for the ride.

Gladiator. Incorrigible Ale-Hound (just because you must have INSANE amounts of spare time to get that). Apart from that, not much.

180 elites*

Most elite skill hunters also have all the normal skills.. meaning they have as much farming and questing experience as just about anyone else, as well as a great deal of exploring. It's the most encompassing title of the PvE ones, as it takes you everywhere, to kill everything, and it teaches you the most about mobs (compared to cartographer where you just run around).

the one i'm impressed with is Grandmaster Cartographer. however, for pve I probably respect 'Advanced Skill Hunter' the most. as someone who is close to getting it on my monk (i have about 150 capped), I know it takes a lot of time and know-how about controlling henchy etc.

for ones like a warrior with a cartographer, it doesn't really mean anything but time spent as you can run most of it to unlock. now if someone had a high-level Cartographer on a character besides a warrior, that is something i could respect a lot.
