Wow, i finally to house of zu heltzer and i was amazed that amber cost so much for 1.5k monk armor! I mean its like im buying paying for 1 pair of 1.5k armor in factions when i could get 3 pairs in prophecies!

That's because you are working for the skin of your armor.
You can get the ones that are alot cheaper (like tyrian, krytian...etc) with the same stats.

Maybe you could try getting the amber yourself via faction rather than expecting to buy everything. Kurzick/Luxon armor is supposed to show allegiance to one side or another.

you can get pretty much the half for one set from doing the befriending quest (10 out of 21 needed amber/jade).
and who said you need to have kurzick/luxon armor anyway? its starting to sound as the plenty of people about a week ago that were mad spamming in hzh how expensive amber is
if you feel like collecting faction, run a search here, several threads are discussing the most effective ways to get faction
PS you could also check the rare material trader now and then, amber is getting a bit more common there , last time I saw it was 1.9k a piece.

As i see it the 1.5k luxon/kutrzick armour is armour that fits a nice niche in the game, in beteen regular 1.5k armour and 15k armour. Then you have the luxon /kurxick 15k for an extra investment, and finally comes fow armour, its just adding a few rungs of cost toteh armour ladder ^_^

I happened to get my new Necro to Droknars on the 30th... The armor that would usually have cost me about 7-8k took a whopping 15k out of my account. Would have been more but I decided to do a bit of farming for materials instead of buying them...

I thought farming for factions for the amber was a lot more fun than trying to get the money to buy the amber. Doing missions like Altrumm Ruins and Fort Aspenwood are pretty fun and they took my mind off of 'farming' for my monk Kurzick armor.
And I kind of got lucky at the rare material shop and got to buy 7 amber for 1.3k before it sold out. <_< But that's besides the point!

At least faction can be acquired. Monsterous Claws, needed for Rt armors in Kaineng, are over 1 plat in value. The vials of ink needed to get the Kurzick armor only cost a pinch over 300 gold-- much cheaper. Much, much cheaper. But I like the looks of the stuff you get in Chinatown, anyway, so I really don't give a (hoover)dam.
It's a way out-of-wack armor balance though... it cost me an arm and a leg to get all of those claws, when I already had 10,000 faction banked from the FPE. Too bad... Now I'm cashing in on people who are too lazy to get their own faction and buy their own amber.
